Reviews for JCR Offroad JKSD-GN2-PC Engine Skid Plate in Black for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Worked like a charm at MOAB...protected oil pan, transfer case and exhaust from a bad line I picked
The clear instructions made it easy to instal. Only wish it came in red...nothing that I could not fix with a rattle can.
Found the bottom bolts of the Forward drivers side brace ended too close to my 3.8’s oil pan so installed the bolts from the top and trimmed the excess with a cut off.
My cross member looks like a Picasso painting so I can’t comment on clearance for the exhaust cross over but I did add a spacer.
Looks great but I wouldn’t try to jack the Jeep from it but that’s not what it’s for anyway.
Mixed review. I bought this about a month ago and finally had time to put on. A friend helped and was impressed with the mounts compared to his skid plates. The JCRs are much more beefy. While installing, I noticed it was close to the engine block, <.25”. We tried adjusting and started the engine a few times to watch the clearance. I kept an eye on it and noticed two days after install it was touching the engine block. I removed the mount and cut notch out. Will keep an eye on it for a while. Hopefully JCR gets back to me about this.
Left arm was just a pain. Top was touching engine block/cutting+welding1/, side was in way of Front Diff. Skid/cutting+welding2, arm was close to pipes/grinding/, screws holding skid were too long+close to oil pan/cutting/.
