Reviews for Quadratec Automatic Billet Aluminum Mirror Movers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
They work, however, the mirrors either wobble slightly (because the swivel screws arent tight enough), or don't close all the way to the door (because the swivel screws are too tight) -- was very annoying to try and find that sweet spot (I eventually gave up and removed the mirrors). Also, the power cable runs through the joint that swivels. While messing with tightening and loosening the bolt, it was annoying having to avoid (move around) the cable (didn't want to pinch it and ruin it). They work great when the doors are off, but kinda suck when the doors are on as the screws would either tighten or loosen themselves over time and would have to be adjusted. The concept is great, the design kinda sucks.
Good mirrors and great for door on or off driving. Passenger mirror doesn’t have a large enough stop on the billet that fills the stock hole on the door. This has caused the bottom left edge of the mirror to scratch and rub the paint off. So far, customer service sent me a supposed fix after about a year of having the mirrors on. Initially, the fix worked, I even used two of the foam vibration spacers. However, I’m now back to the mirror resting on the door when opening and further rubbing off the paint.
These are the best solution to the doors off mirror problem. The keep the mirrors in the same spot as factory regardless if doors are on or off. I would have given this 5 stars, but one of the springs that returns the mirror head to its position broke and Quadratec doesn’t sell or stock or offer parts kits for these mirrors.
Love these mirrors but my knees and shins hate them. The door will never stay open.
Meh. I don't love them. The mirrors themselves are cheap. One of mine arrived not intact and I had to work at reseating it more than I'd like, and I'm hopeful it stays. Once in place the mirrors bump my doors when they are on in a way I don't think they are meant to, but they are good mirrors for doors off, which was why I got them. I'll go back to the factory mirrors on the doors when I put them back on, because they are definitely not as good as those. I'm disappointed in the quality for the price I paid on this one.
Bit the bullet and got these for several reasons, overall I like them and will keep them. However, the driver side glass vibrates to where you can’t see out of it at times. It’s not the arm tension it’s the glass itself. Quadratec sent me a new set and the new ones do the same.
Was really excited for this to get here... it got here broken. Talked to customer service to get it replaced and I'm going to have to wait another week. I'm giving it a 3 star bc the customer service was okay and hopefully the not broken one I get works well.
3 stars because at the arm joints it's a little flimsy. Other than that, it works great.
Install was easy, they work wellish. On really cold days the retracting mechanism can be a bit slow to fully retract, not really an issue. The only real issue I had was the driver side mirror will only move diagonally. It wont move up/down or left right. So I am stuck with an odd potion for driver side mirror. If that had not been wonky, would have easily given this a 5 star, 4 star if this issue was reversed and on passenger side instead.
These mirrors are awesome. They should be 5 stars, but the springs are a definite issue. My driverside mirror arm no longer returns to the fully closed position without highway driving or human intervention. It stays about an inch and a half out until one of those things happens. Super annoying.
