Reviews for Quadratec Automatic Billet Aluminum Mirror Movers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Absolutely amazing! They function as advertised and look awesome. Very easy to install. The website says 3-4 hours but with some base mechanical knowledge I was able to get it done in about 2 hours. Everything fits together and the directions are clear. I also used the install video on the website. The only thing I was concerned about was pushing the harness down the hole behind the grommet and not knowing where it would come out. Nothing anywhere on that. So I took a chance, and they came out behind and below the dash in the perfect spot on the left side near the electrical disconnect for the door. Everything went smoothly and I could not ask for better. The mirrors are in the perfect position and I believe that the power mirror has more articulation outward than the factory mirrors. Now I can spend my summer doorless. Thank you Quadratec!
Simple change out. Both mirrors, in the cold and lite rain took 38 minutes. The glass is clear and of good quality. The only thing you'll have to get used to is that the spring load will close your doors. Well worth every penny of the cost.
I installed these for my husband while he was at work because I was concerned about having the safest and most practical option for mirror replacement when he takes off his doors. It took me a about 3 hours to do it on my own with a couple breaks, plus I am a novice at upgrading any Jeep components. But, it was well worth the expense and effort. No whistling. Steady mirrors. Placement must be very close to the OEM because we cannot notice any difference. Power works flawlessly. We are both really happy with the results. Would highly recommend if you have the money to spend on them.
Pros: Best option for mirrors (Mirrors x2 if you go doors off regurally); Relatively easy to install, though there is some time involved; Good visibility on passenger side: passenger side is in nearly identical position; retains heat and power mirror; added benefit of the spring in the mirror('s) arm('s) when doors are on: holding the door tight to avoid dinging your neighbors doors.
Cons: Installed today, and after 1st 2 HR Sunday drive, there is a noticable but very slight wistle from the passenger mirror. Clarity of image from mirrors is not as clear as OEM MOPAR, confirmed after windex and windows down.
Other Notes:
TOOLS! For this install specifically Torx bits, non-marring auto trim removal kit (big plus), snips, and flashlight. Stock up! Have the necessary tools ready and save yourself some time and hassle.
After installed, these mirrors will acctually assist the Jeep owner from door dinging another car, and assist in door closure. Jeep owners are conceincious in parking lots, at least I am, and recognize their doors have no retaining springs or spring hinges. These mirrors, and their spring arms add some retention to the doors flying open. Also, much less force is required to securely latch the door when closing.
Mirrors install as they were supposed to. This may not sound like a glowing review, but it is... I am used to anything that is not OEM (on everything, not just Jeep stuff) being about 15% off - holes don't line up quite right and need some adjusting, things just being a touch too large or too small, etc. Not so here - the install was not quick, but everything went in and fit exactly where it should have.
I have been waiting for a powered version of the mirror movers - this should make it easier to get going with the doors off (not having to put on those mostly-useless safari mirrors) and actually be able to see when I change lanes.
Very happy with this purchase. I initially tried the Rugged Ridge Relocation brackets, but the passenger side mirror was useless with the doors on. Next I tried the Smittybilt quick Disconnect mirrors. They were alright, however they tended to droop at higher speeds. They also began rusting within 2 weeks. Finally found these and dropped the extra cash. I’m very happy with them and have 0 complaints after a month of them.
Also works with Mopar 1/2 doors!!!
I thought I would share as I did not see that mentioned anywhere and was worried they might not work when i ordered them.
Installation was very easy, though i varied from instructions by taking my doors off before routing the inside wiring.
Great mirrors, work well, passenger side mirror is setup tilted inward farther than drivers side, still looks good though, so far good quality. Best after market mirrors I've found.

I love these things so far. The installation required removing the two hood cowl screws so I could flex the cowl out far enough to get the mirror wire through. I went this route over flexing out the panel as shown in the instructions. Also I did not route the wires thru the same hole as the wiper fluid hose because just below that opening is another huge access hole that is not used on the 2017 JKU. I dont know about other models. As an added bonus since I park sideways on a slight hill, the mirrors add just a little tension when opening the door. Now I dont have to worry about holding the door with my toe so it dosent swing out and hit my neighbors car.
