Installed on a 2dr '09 X. Factory ride height. If you vary the amount of spacers on the front brackets you can get enough clearance to avoid hitting anything, and the only part that can possibly hit anything only happens at FULL DEFLECTION, which took both myself and a friend jumping on the front bumper to happen. The finish is good, and has held up well!

A note if you install with the factory transfer case skid plate: you will have to grind the lip off the top forward part of the xfer case plate to get it to mount flat with the trans skid plate.

This thing is beefy! I installed this with the Rough Country heavy duty crossmember. It's easy, tho I had a friend helping and we had access to a lift. Probably best to do the front first and only tighten the bolts enough to let it hang. You'll have to remove the transfer case skid, I cut the wings off that so we could put it under the smittybilt for a smooth transition. Only challenge was that the RC crossmember doesn't use captured nuts so you have to move them around a bit. Still, with two of us it was under an hour.

Just tested it out this past weekend. Slammed down on it pretty hard. Hard enough to dent it. Did its job keeping everything in tact. Very happy with it.

Also, super easy install. Seems very secure.

Might be a decent skid for some people, but I never opened the box. Here's why. ... After some web research, I bought this Smittybilt skidplate 76922. I even read the installation guide PDF in advance. The Smittybilt website says this will fit a 2017 Jeep JK. BUT the actual box disagrees, with a big yellow warning label saying this requires a minimum 2.5" lift. I called Smittybilt tech support & they said it will not fit & it says so in their catalog. (But not their website & not 4WP website, and not the install instructions either). I have to return it. Really annoying. Huge waste of time.
