Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK
Love this top! Fits great and easy to install and remove. Looks great too.
Picked this up as a replacement of my Bestop trektop and am pleased with it so far. Instructions aren't the most clear, but if you have common sense it isn't hard to put together in about an hour. Seems very solid built. Main words of advice is put this top on in 80 degree or hotter weather. Mine was installed in a 70 degree shop and the fabric was crazy tight still, if it was warmer it would have been a little easier to work with during install. I highly recommend this top as an alternate to a Bestop that's double the price.
I have had this top for a little over a year now, and I agree with all the reviews that think the top is great, It looks great and is easy to remove and put back on. Now to the issues, the instructions were bad, but if you have a bit of common sense, it will take about an hour and a half to install the first time. Now on to the big issue the zippers, they are bad. The teeth break way too easy.
I would recommend this top, That is if they stand behind their product and replace the broken parts.
For the price its a pretty decent addition to your jeep. It adds a nice aggressive look and comes with everything you need to mount it. Make sure you follow the instructions and LET IT SIT IN THE SUN before you install it so the material will stretch properly
I wouldn't order this top again. While it looks fantastic, the instructions were horrible. I can get over poor instructions but the design is not good. First... If it rains, you will have massive puddles on the top. The bars that slide in to holders, are way to short and allow water to puddle. This means, when you get in the Jeep, tons of water is going to dump off of the top on the side you open the door on and put weight in the jeep. ***THIS TOP DOES NOT FOLD*** You will not have a soft top that you can take off any more. The back and sides come off very easy, but the top does not.
As far as others with zipper issues, I have not experienced this problem. My zippers work great.
This top is on my 2010 JKU Rubicon.
Instruction manual was difficult as far as some of the photos go. Installation was long and hard but I'll write that off on the climate that I'm in being only about 45 degrees. I would like to speak with someone about my back window, a few of the zipper teeth broke on installation. Other than that, I've had a minor leak above the driver door. Hopefully that gets better when the weather warms up and the top can get a better fit. With all that being said, the top looks great and has already helped my MPG
Installation not quite as easy as expected. Love the look and the flip back roof is much nicer than having a yard of billowing canvas flapping aroundon the roof while driving with it open. Don't love the MASSIVE puddling on the folding section in the rain. Also needs rain gutters. I left windows cracked slightly for summer heat, came back to 2" of water on the floor. Discovered that water runs off top straight into the cab. There is also a 1" gap where the RH door bar (L) meets the RH Middle Plastic (P). Only other annoyance was when I switched back to hard top for winter and BOTH plastic pieces for the tailgate retainer clip (HH) broke, so it appears I'll be inquiring about new ones. Still like the top, but would love to see some mods to the roof for puddling on the folding panel and rain gutters.
I would have given it a 5 but the directions aren't as clear as you think they would be. We had to put together and take pieces a part a lot more than we should have because the directions weren't clear and the part were not labeled good at all. Other than that we love the top. We have never done this before so with the issues we had it took two of us about 4 hours to get it done all the way and i was still going back and fixing little things with it this morning. The road noise inside my jeep has been cut down a lot and it looks amazing with the fastback style.
I received this on Friday and put it on Sunday. It would help if the pieces were lettered, rather than having to figurebout by picture which was which, but otherwise an easy task. I like the way it looks and fits. My problem is today, on Tuesday, I notice a hole in the top towards the windshield header. I can see daylight which I know means I'll have a leak right about my touchscreen radio. For $535 I would expect more.
So just as a heads up, there is a comment here by Jeff G. stating how much he likes the sunroof feature of this soft top.. FYI, there is no sunroof feature for this soft top.. I bought it because of that review and apparently it was written on the wrong item listing. However, the top looks absolutely fantastic on my 2013 JKU 10a. I don't daily drive my jeep, its mostly just for vacations and pretty days.
The Good: Looks, easy to remove rear and side windows for more air flow, plenty of velcro locations to snug everything up, no leaks even in the hardest of downpours at 70mph, no flapping, material doesn't stain when you get mud on it, windows seem highly scratch resistant, top doesn't flap, billow or bounce while driving. Fair price for what you are getting.
The Bad: Took forever to install because of how poor the instructions are, you have to just kinda guess at it by looking at the pictures they use and ignore the text. Zippers are plastic and pure junk. There are 5 zippers on this soft top and within 3 days of installation, I only have 2 zippers still working. Many are missing teeth and the zipper pull rips out if you pull even slightly hard on it. The rear window is a nightmare to open because you have undo both back corners of the top from the body to remove the tailgate bar and roll up. You have to remove a metal bar inside the window bottom to be able to roll it up and secure it in the up position. Drivers front corner doesn't sit level and allows a crazy amount of wind noise in from that ONE spot. The puddle bars are too short for the stitching so they fall out and jab you in the head while driving. Using knobs instead of bolts means you won't be able to get the top tight enough without the use of tools to keep it from flapping. There are 4 clamps that go on the rollbar for the door surrounds, 3 of these had to be bent to line up and another one had to have some work done with the grinder to make the nut sit level enough to thread on.
Quadratec was extremely easy to work with on these problems. Before I could even finish stating the list of issues I was having, the rep said he would have one in the mail to me today at no charge and to just use that box to send the old one back on their dime. That kind of customer service goes a long ways in my book. If I were to do it again, I would go with a better top that has a better fit and higher quality standards, even if I had to pay double what I gave for this one.
