Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top S Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-Door
I struggled to select three stars. The issues (in no particular order) are first, I typed in the part number I wanted from the catalog 11113-1335 for the Adventure Top S with EZ Fold Back Sunroof. I didn't realize the website switches to the part number to 11113-1535 for the Adventure S Fold Top. So I placed my order and eventually it arrived. Yesterday I installed it and immediately noticed the top does not operate as advertised in the catalog OR in the "convenient" install video which is frankly critically short on actual installing details. Instead the video is really just an 8 minute add. It is no way a one handed operation to open the top which now is just a flip back...NOT AS SHOWN IN CATALOG OR IN VIDEO. The whole appeal of getting this top was the unique "Easy One Handed Sunroof Operation". With the sly part number swap this feels like a bait and switch.
Towards the end of the printed install instructions there are recommendations for Bondex iron-on patches for rips...convenient since the fabric is so fragile that folding the top back immediately put two holes (one on each) side of the top.
Step 10 of the instructions are in my estimate the most complicated and important and should have been in the add...er, I mean "installation" video. Figures 47 thru 52 of the instructions are just not sufficient to explain this step.
On the rear door surrounds (drivers and pax) there is a labeled release button that does not connect to anything. It isn't covered in the printed instructions at all. To me, this seems like Quadratec repurposed some door surrounds to make this kit. If so, that's fine but address that in the instructions (like, ignore labeled release lever).
Overall the top otherwise seems to fit like it is supposed to (minus the EZ Fold Back Sunroof lie) which is why I decided to give it at least three stars. IF this had been the top I wanted and IF the canvas was more durable, I might've gone up to four stars.
Top came with everything needed to complete the install and love the way it looks on the Jeep. Installed and followed the directions to a T but after install found gap between the drivers door and the sun rider feature on both drivers and passengers door hoping it will settle out and relax some but really expecting to have leaks. Even went back over the entire instructions to make sure I didn’t miss anything
Purchased a Quadra Top Adventure S Soft Top. Recieved it on 10.31.2019 was a little excited. That stopped as soon as I opened the boxes. Took all the parts out of the boxes and to my surprise no instructions, so I called the Quadratec help line, and got a rep pretty quick. His solution was to go to the website and download the pdf. Ok, hears the thing if you pay $700.00 on a product you should at least get all of the parts, including instructions. This is not a good start to a new purchase. Wondering what problems I am going to have when I begin installation. Not impressed by the start.

I really want to love this top. It has the look I want, and it is easy to operate. ...But, the back window zipper just broke, again. I parked in in the sun hoping the fabric and the window would stretch, but the zipper still broke. The window needs to be a half inch to a full inch wider. The back window is not wide enough, which puts waaayy too much strain on the zippers. The rest of the top looks and feels like it is well designed. Why don't they listen to their customers, and fix this one issue?
I will have to call customer service to get another replacement window for a top that is less than 2 months old.
For me, the ultimate review of any product is the "Would I buy it again?" test. For my use case, primarily used as a summer top and without the rear windows, I would consider buying the Adventure Top S again. If this was my every day, all year top, I would not buy it again. I previously owned a similar top from another brand, so this isn't my only point of reference.
Pros: no material problems with seams, brackets, etc.; header is sturdy and fits & latches well; easy open/close from the driver's seat; good fit at the rear door surrounds; no rain leaks, and even in an automatic car wash, minimal drips; hook & loop fasteners limit water spraying through the rear window zippers in a car wash; option to roll up rear window.
Cons: air leaks near the front doors add wind noise when driving on the highway with the top closed (These air leaks appear to be a design issue and not an adjustment, installation, or manufacturing quality issue); fit around the rear retaining rails could be better, but this might be remedied by leaving the rear windows in more often than I do and reshaping the window stiffening panels to hold the corner curve better; anti-puddling rods occasionally fall out; the top doesn't fit tightly over the rear seat area, causing minor flapping; sunroof section gets blown forward and stopped halfway open, like a sail, in windy highway conditions, but this is easily fixed with a strap. Finally, the instructions need a thorough rewrite.
In summary, this is a workable, reasonably priced option if you will have your Jeep open much of the time the top is on. However, if you plan on running this top on a daily driver in all conditions, you may be frustrated, depending on your tolerance for small annoyances.
I bought the top a few months ago and wanted to give it a while before I wrote a review. So here it is... The top came quickly and was easily installed. Don't know why they were not able to make it work with the factory window lock levers, but the swap was fairly easy. The fold back section is easy to operate and can be done quickly. The only negative things I have came across are when the top is closed. Two of the bigger issues are when the top is close and the window(s) are down the fold back portion flaps and smacks off the sound bar creating a constant loud noise. The other issue is the same area, when it is parked and rains the water puddles and balloons the top down (no matter how much its adjusted). It impressively hold about 2-3 gallons of water. If there is enough water and time it must come through the seam, as once I was out of town and came home to a lot of water on the top, in my sound bar and rear floorboard.
I think one additional arched bar going across the foldback assembly would cure all the issues in this section. The only other thing I wish was easier would be the back window. You have to undue parts of the corner sections to get the locking bar out just to roll it up and put it back.
Pros: Easy to install
Fit was accurate
Is quieter than my old soft top
Con: Top hold water in head section (will leak if enough water and time)
Top flaps and creates flapping sound off sound bar area
Overall a decent top for the price but could use some simple improvements. I am already working on mine.
Bought because of price and style, because of powercoat over threads, not have unknown size tap, had to buy $9.00 worth of new hardware for quick release. Soft top flaps in wind, have it as tight as I can, rain don't drain If in outside, can see light throw the flip top, even when pushed all the way shut. Institution and YouTube video don't show what one small 2 inch tie down peace is or where it goes. Took about 3 to 4 hours to install, with running to hardware store
Not bad. Installation had it's problems. The rear right bolt that went though the roll bar cross threaded. The top does puddle. It takes a bit of time to stretch. I did have a part that was not on the parts list that I don't know where it goes. Instructions were mediocre but if you're handy you can figure out. Overall decent top keeps me dry in heavy rain. No problems a month out. I will say this is the second Quadratec product I bought that was just a little off with fitment of bolts in one spot. Probably won't go with their brand again unless it's for my son's Jeep TJ.
What I loved about it was the way it looked and the ease of throwing the top back. I had a problem with mine pooling water and the fit was so tight that I had trouble with the back window zipper, and where it tucks in behind the passenger doors. The deal breaker was when it began leaking so bad that me an my wife would were soaked. Same things that had been mentioned by a few others on here. I called Quadratec and there customer service was awesome.
In general I am fairly pleased with the top.
I have an issue with water pooling on the top and have not had an opportunity to adjust the top. I have the front latches as tight as they can go, so will need to try and adjust by pulling the rear Velcro closure tighter.
I also am getting a fairly loud whistle from the windshield / front door area as I drive. Have not driven in heavy enough rain to assess how that equates to water leakage yet but I fear that it may be significant based on the sound of wind. Should be able to mitigate with some foam.
