Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top S Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-Door
Just installed this today. It takes a good bit of time to assemble the door surrounds, but the instructions are thorough. It needs to be assembled and installed when it's warm. The directions say 72 deg.+ , but the warmer the better. After all the fabric parts relaxed in the sun, assembly was easy.
The front flap folds and closes quick and easy (much easier than freedom panels). Looking forward to using this top for the summer!
I've had this on my JKU for over a week now and really enjoy it. I should have waited a little to put it on but who gets a package and waits. The temp was around 40 degrees so everything was very tight. Now that it's warmer and everything stretched taking windows out and reinstalling are a breeze. I've gone through the car wash and been in heavy rain and haven't had any leaking issues other than the first night because it wasn't stretched enough and couldn't close all the zippers. I'm not sure if it's the fastback style or the weight savings going from the hard top but my mpg is even better (but who buys a Jeep for fuel economy).
I love the top! It went on easy even installing it on a 60 degree day here in NJ. The top went on quickly and fits great. My only issue is: The top when folded back, lifts and flaps while going over 50 mph. I was under the impression this top would work at highway speeds with the front folded back. If I knew this would be an issue I was have maybe purchased a different top. I came from the Trektop NX that would bounce and flap and bunch up and was really hoping to have a top that can be folded back without those issues. Hope a solution can be found so I can enjoy the top as promised.
Looks good,
Had it get it hot in the sun to stretch it out so that i could zip close the back window. Took a little longer than suggested
Instructions could be a bit clearer, but the 2 stars were deducted because one pair of included bolts was too short. Had to make a trip to the hardware store to get replacements. Also, it's a good idea to add a dab of anti seize because the hardware is stainless I had one bolt that called and was almost impossible to remove. (Luckily I had a spare thanks to the mismatched hardware!) Overall it's a nice top and I like the versatility of being able to take out the rear and flip the front back. Perfect for Northern California with its long dry season.
I like it but loved the aspects of the previous version a bit better. This new version of the top has a newer, less easy to operate sunroof flip version. Previous version I owned of this top could easily be opened and closed while sitting in the seat. Not anymore..you have to get out and flip the lid shut now. Only other odd thing is the weird plastic slots you have to use to keep the back window panel closed. Seem cheap and will be easily lost if you don't protect them.
Other than that, it's a good top, and will be fantastic in the summer time. Looking forward to make the most of it in the summer time.
Recently purchased this top. Instructions were very straight forward and install was a breeze. Now the not so good.
When assembling 2 of the snaps on the drivers side would not align. I mean it is not even close. For $699 I would expect some quality control. So I have a top that needs to be modified (probably voiding the warranty). Just to make sure it snaps. I would also like to see a second retention strap for driving down the freeway. My passenger side flaps so hard I am worried it will fly off.
Beyond that, construction is good (with QC issues). But I have happy. Just could be better.
They must have sent old an old models instructions because it was obviously incorrect, took about 3 hours to figure it out on my own. No straps were included to roll up windows and secure. The top does have a slight leak when it rains near the driver side window. Overall I suppose you get what you pay for. Once together it works for my purposes.
I struggled to select three stars. The issues (in no particular order) are first, I typed in the part number I wanted from the catalog 11113-1335 for the Adventure Top S with EZ Fold Back Sunroof. I didn't realize the website switches to the part number to 11113-1535 for the Adventure S Fold Top. So I placed my order and eventually it arrived. Yesterday I installed it and immediately noticed the top does not operate as advertised in the catalog OR in the "convenient" install video which is frankly critically short on actual installing details. Instead the video is really just an 8 minute add. It is no way a one handed operation to open the top which now is just a flip back...NOT AS SHOWN IN CATALOG OR IN VIDEO. The whole appeal of getting this top was the unique "Easy One Handed Sunroof Operation". With the sly part number swap this feels like a bait and switch.
Towards the end of the printed install instructions there are recommendations for Bondex iron-on patches for rips...convenient since the fabric is so fragile that folding the top back immediately put two holes (one on each) side of the top.
Step 10 of the instructions are in my estimate the most complicated and important and should have been in the add...er, I mean "installation" video. Figures 47 thru 52 of the instructions are just not sufficient to explain this step.
On the rear door surrounds (drivers and pax) there is a labeled release button that does not connect to anything. It isn't covered in the printed instructions at all. To me, this seems like Quadratec repurposed some door surrounds to make this kit. If so, that's fine but address that in the instructions (like, ignore labeled release lever).
Overall the top otherwise seems to fit like it is supposed to (minus the EZ Fold Back Sunroof lie) which is why I decided to give it at least three stars. IF this had been the top I wanted and IF the canvas was more durable, I might've gone up to four stars.
Top came with everything needed to complete the install and love the way it looks on the Jeep. Installed and followed the directions to a T but after install found gap between the drivers door and the sun rider feature on both drivers and passengers door hoping it will settle out and relax some but really expecting to have leaks. Even went back over the entire instructions to make sure I didn’t miss anything
