Reviews for Smittybilt 76794 Front SRC Gen II Tube Doors for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great product!
Very happy with these doors on my '18 JKU. I bit fiddly to get everything lined up for a perfect fit, but I did get it done. Please note that the steel bracket that holds the latch is also adjustable and this was the final little tweak to get a perfect fit on all four of mine.
I used cheap knock-off factory replacement mirror heads and they fit fine and retain the fold-back function. If I had manual mirrors on my factory doors I would simply swap them over since its very easy and my doors are off from March - October. Smittbuilt provides the shorter bolts required to mount the mirror heads on their relocation brackets for a clean install that looks good.
I also like the Molle door panels which knock down the crosswind and provide a little privacy when I'm carrying stuff - especially in the back seat. I still run without any front doors sometimes, but leave the rear tube doors on because I like the look and they hide the groceries, etc, on the way home.
Love these doors!
The molle pouch options are limitless and they look great.
These doors are Bomb! Make sure to order factory replacement mirrors that will bolt to the supplied door brackets if you have electric mirrors!
I really like the looks and feel of these doors. They went on pretty easy and only required minor adjustments to close correctly. I purchased these on a special when they came with a set of mirrors. I have to say the Quadratec supplied mirrors are very poor. They are cheaply made and the glass will not stay adjusted for more than 5 mins of driving. So count on swapping your stock mirrors or buying an extra set.
Bought these in high hopes based on the fact that it looks like a very well thought out design. Unfortunately, Smittybilt quality can ruin a great design. Doors are well constructed, structurally. Three of the doors will push closed with no problem. Unfortunately, the drivers door mechanism is difficult to close. I've aligned it so that the striker matches perfectly, but the latch itself is extremely stiff and requires you to firmly press the door to close.. On this door the handle was also very loose and rattled around. All other door handles were firm and did not rattle. Next problem. The doors say the factory mirrors will bolt right on. Not true. The holes that the mirrors are supposed to mount into are far too small to fit the mirror pegs. Do you really want to spend $700 on tube doors only to have to drill holes and mess up the coating to mount your mirrors? I'd say try out Ranch or Body Armor before choosing Smittybilt. These are not ready for primetime.
Doors have been on the vehicle for only 6 months in the past year. Passenger door already filled with water after a heavy rain. Now rusty water is coming out the bottom of the door. Called Smittybilt. their recommendation was to drill a hole in the bottom of the door. Otherwise they say there is nothing they can due..... $300 rusted door filled with water 1 year after purchase... do not buy.
