Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top S Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
This is the second top Quadratec sent me. Had several issues with the first. The second. Went on like a dream. I love this top. Great look, great fit. I highly suggest you leave it in the sun light for several hours. I still had a small issue with one side and the door surround. But with the sun on that side. Within 15 minutes, it tucked right in. Also, there's a u tube video by another tops manufacturer. I'd watch that also. I gave it 4 stars for the reasons I had with the first top. But they stand behind their products and sent me another. Thank you Quadratec. You guys are awesome.
Preface: I am rating the top itself. I have major issues with the instructions which I will list below.
The top fits very well and had limited flapping noise in the beginning with the sunroof closed and the windows down. After an eight hour road trip, the top has a terrible snapping sounds when the sunroof is closed and the windows are down. It's so bad, I have to either open the sunroof or shut the windows.
The initial fit is very snug. I haven't removed the rear side panels or opened the rear window yet. I will do this in about a month for another road trip.
The sunroof operation is smooth and enjoyable.
The instructions have you tighten down turn screws on the door support and then the next step is to add a mounting plate for the sunroof which requires you to remove the turn screws and put them back on after mounting the plate.
All-in-All so far, it's a nice top. I hope I can figure a way to quiet the flapping/snapping nose from the shut sunroof.
Love having the flip top. Installation is not as easy as it looks. Still having a problem with the side flaps by the door frame, very poor design, they don't snap in and stay there. One side did stay put until I opened the top, then it was loose and flapped in the wind. I finally used Velcro on frame and top to keep it secure. So far it works like a charm.
We've had this soft top on our daughters 2012 JK Wrangler for the past three summers.
We have always had a problem with the channels above the doors filling with water when it rains and while she's driving it leaks onto her and her passengers seat. We can't figure out how the water is getting in there. We love the look of the soft top but are not happy with the amount of water that leaks in.
It works but the quality has gone down substantially. I had to redrill and modify some parts to assemble it. It’s also much more noisy than my previous one.
This was nearly identical (and I'll bet completely) to the Rampage top. It didn't work out for me (neither did the Rampage). I live in a cold climate, and it's too snug. This one was returned, but Quadratec was awesome about it. If these tops were built with an extra 1/2" of material on each side, they'd be perfect. Until that happens, you'd better live in the south if you want to enjoy this one.
Zippers are horrible. Both zippers on back window broke and I am having a hard time getting a replacement window ( I have a 2 door 2017 Wrangler Willy). Can't find any parts for this window on the Quadratec web site and I am using the part numbers that are in the installation instructions. Thinking of just bagging it and going back to my OEM top that came with the jeep.
I bought this top thinking it was a good deal, but when I installed it the zipper on the left rear broke immediately. Quadratec did a great job getting it replaced quickly but here I am with another broken zipper, this time on the right rear. The problem: the male end of the zipper is weak and not attached to the material so it breaks as soon as you try to run the zipper and pressure is applied. I still like the top but I made my own fix for the problem, I bought a marine grade heavy duty zipper and sewed it on. No problems now and have been very happy with the top.
I suppose watching the video may have helped, however, I completed the install per the instructions included. It took a couple hours start to finish. The only issue I ran into is that I have a gap at the handle side of both doors. I used the round alignment hole for the door/window re-enforcement and it seems like they’re not forward enough at the bottom. Not sure what the issue is, but I’m guaranteed to get wet when it rains.
So far I like the look. Didn't realize it didn't fold back like the factory install to take it totally down. Also on my 2010 2 door wrangler sport the rear window hits the head rests of the back seat when they are in. Wish that would have been noted.
