Transforms you Jeeps appearance. Nice deep, dark black fabric look compared to the matte black diamond material top that comes standard. Twills the way to go. The Integrated Header Channel had a broken piece upon arrival but after contacting Quadratec they had a replacement to my home the very next day.
Took me about 4 hours to complete by myself only because of my OCD. Watch a few videos on installing this top before hand and pat yourself on the back for a good looking job afterwards.
This is an excellent top! I am super-picky and I found the quality to be equivalent to (or maybe better than) OEM parts. The material really is the same as a luxury car convertible top. I was looking for a soft top to serve as a bikini/safari top mostly but still have the flexibility to button all the way up on a rainy day if needed. It does the trick. wind noise is relatively low, even on the highway at 75 MPH. The quarter windows and back window panel are easy to remove and reinstall. The top also has some useful, zippered, storage pockets over the sun visors which I was not expecting. Great addition to having a hardtop.
Added this to my 2007 JKU. I bought this Jeep used and the original owner kept it in a garage most of the time and did not use the factory soft top much. The factory soft top was well worn anyway and seemed to have been stored in a way that it became bent and warped in the metal joint areas. That and 13 years of use/nonuse led to an extra loud wind noise when driving. It also leaked as I have never had a Jeep leak before.
Installed the new Bestop following the directions and I watched their video. Totally agree that placing the top in the sun to warm up is a great idea to aid installation. I would have not enjoyed doing this project on a cold day. Wind noise is back to reasonable/Jeep-like and it does not seem to leak at all.
Love the convenient Sunrider feature. This top does not come off the same way as a factory top but it would not take much work to remove it completely if desired. I expect this to last but I would buy it again should a new Jeep require it. Very pleased.
I love this top and the twill material BUT the installation.. Easily 3 hours Having an extra person to help will make it easier. The zippers are pretty nice too! This top fits so tight IF you install it correctly! 75 mph smooth and surprisingly quiet.
Best money ive spent on my '15 JK so far! looks great. functions great! exactly what i wanted! easy to install too.
First of all........ Not sure what the previous review about the flapping is because this thing fits tighter than a drum in a good way. And if it's not a soft top jeep it's not a jeep!!! You can't compare it to a hard top. Secondly..... I replaced my old Trek top with this new one and WOW what a difference. Everything I hated about my last one was fixed right here with the new Trek-top. The sun-rider function works perfect. it fits better. it's quieter in every way... The windows are easier to take off. The rear tailgate bar fits better. SIMPLY BETTER all the way around. And the pockets above the visors are great for multiple reasons (Better storage and more material in the wind turbulence area for a quieter ride!!! I love this TOP!! One thing I do not like and is not shown in the pics is the big reflective BESTOP logo on the back of the roof section!!!!! In like four inch letters!! But other than that this thing is amazing. Buy it!!!!
Originally I was going to review this top and give it 1 star, due to having leak issues from the top panel above the rear window panel and water also leaking behind the rear doors in through the window panels due to no weather stripping inlcuded. I contacted Bestop for assistance, and the first guy was not very helpful. it took 4 weeks to get a new top panel and 2 new side windows. The top panel no longer leaks, but only one of the replacement window panels had the included weather stripping. I contacted Bestop again, but this time Jasmine from customer service gave me her contact info, and she wanted as much information as could give her, include the date codes of the 4 window panels, and she overnighted a replacement window panel! Now I have been through several storms and no leaks!
