Reviews for JCR Offroad JLHR-WP-PC Winch Mount Plate for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon with Factory Steel Bumper
Good price
Simple and effective
A little cumbersome to install, but not too difficult. Works great.
Easy to install had to shim the top of the plate. I cut one of the provide base shims in half my quadratic winch hit the grill.
I initially thought no instructions were provided, then I found the card inside with the web address. JCR is a less paper company, I respect that. The install is rather difficult for one person, with or without a jack to hold up the winch & winch mount plate while lining up 8 bolts on the Front Bumper. Instead, I got the winch mount plate in place and then loosely attached the front the bumper. There was enough room to slide my winch (Q-Performance Stealth Series 10k lbs) inside the bumper and then secure it to the winch mounting plate. Also, the provided hardware for the fairlead mount was bent; however it flushed itself out when I tightened down the bolts. Having more than one person definitely makes this an easier job.
Overall, this is worth the money and about $50 less than others on the market, so I can't complain too much about it. I'm happy with my installation on my Jeep JL.
Two of us lady jeepers installed a Smittybilt X20 10K winch with this plate on a 2019 JL Rubicon bumper in one evening. I don't recommend the JCR mounting plate, but I do recommend this winch for the rubi bumper because it fits super nice and rests low in the bumper. The mounting plate does not include instructions so you'll have to print them from the JCR website. The pics in the instructions are very dark so they're no help. Also, we had to loosen 4 brackets in order to get the plate to fit properly. It took us two extra hours to figure this out....then we saw a guy in a youtube video have the same problem....the instructions fail to tell you about loosening the brackets. I guess the plate works as it should, but the install could have been so much easier if JCR had half way decent instructions included in the box.
Only reason for the low rating was zero instructions for installing which you'd think wouldn't be that difficult. But you have to mount front corners and then mouse the winch, then hold up to push bumper mount bolts through. We also received the winch with no instructions what so ever so apparently there is a common theme here. We got everything installed finally but took way longer than necessary due to the install remove and install remove....
THIS WINCH PLATE IS A PIECE OF JUNK< DO NOT BUY VERY POOR THIN MATERIAL.
I PURCHASE THIS WINCH PLATE< THE SAME DAY I TRIED TO STOP THE DELIVERY > I FOUND OUT MY WIFE HAD BOUGHT ME ONE. SEND EMAILS FINALLY CALLED ON THIRD CALL< FINALLY SPOKE TO SOMEONE < HE SAID HE WOULD SEE WHAT HE COULD DO> DAY LATER HE CALLS ME AND TELLS ME ITS TO LATE ALREADY SHIPPED. WHICH FOUND REAL HARD TO BELIEVE MUST BE HARD UP FOR SALE.CAME INTO DAY NO GOOD> DO NOT BUY.
This (JCR) mounting plate is not strong enough to hold up to winch use. You can see the plate flex under light use and on a hard pull mine bent and damaged my winch and bumper. Spend a little extra money and get a better quality mounting plate.
Not impressed with it the bracket it bends when lightly using the winch. Needs more support on the back to the frame.
