Reviews for Mountain Off-Road DPJL18DS Driver Side Dead Pedal for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Works great. Hard to install but worth it on drives.
I installed my pedal this past weekend (02/21/21). I chose the middle setting for the installation. The pedal itself is a great item. You don`t realize how much you missed it until you install one. That being said, at 6. feet and 290 lbs it was a little tight down there during the install. I have large hands,(arthritis) and the bolt at the front end of the jeep was really difficult to get on and then tighten. All and all, i am very happy with the pedal.
Perfect
Much easier to install than I initially expected. Definitely adds a lot of comfort as an adjustable angled "dead foot" rest, especially during long drives. The instructions and photos appear confusing at first but once you "pretzel" yourself into position (I'm 6'2", 210# 70y/o!) they start to make sense.
Love it! Easy to install and comfortable fit.
The product I received did not have the word MORE cut out of the metal like the picture on Quadratec. It had a generally ugly sticker instead, but it peeled off cleanly. Quadratec should update their product picture.
The other reviews had me worried about the install, but it wasn’t a big deal. I did take the advice of others to tuck a washcloth behind the bracket first so nothing drops behind the Jeep’s plastic panel when installing. I also did the trick someone shared about using a plastic wire tie to hold it in place while getting the bolts started. I am not sure that step was necessary, but it was easy to do. I didn’t have any trouble with existing Jeep wires as others have warned. I shared a picture of the tools that worked for me.
I took the door off and opened the top first just to get some extra light in. I used in this order a camp light, old wash cloth, old towel to put under my knees on the concrete garage floor, hex key 3/16”, wrench 1/2”, long plastic wire tie and cutters, and a stubby ratchet 7/16”. It probably took me about 30 minutes, but I wasn’t in a hurry.
I am 5’10” standard build and I am happy with the middle setting.
Now that it is in, it feels great and I would highly recommend it to others.
I read a lot of reviews before I bought this. I used a tie wrap to hold the bar in place while I installed the pedal and the lock nuts. All told, it took about 25 minutes of contortions to install.
Excellent Product - 15 minute to install
This was the perfect addition to my rig. I'm a bit short in the legs and this dead pedal is set exactly where I needed it. Very heavy-duty construction. A bit tough to install but, it went fairly quick. Definitely recommended.
Works as advertised, strong well built.
