Alpine X209-WRA-OR 9" In Dash Restyle System Reviews
After getting the stereo installed, I was driving it home. It went blue screen on me halfway home. Once home I turned it off and turned it back on and everything appears to be working and no problems since. It’s been about three weeks now. Unfortunately, the stereo came with a very basic users manual. The stereo has so many things more that it can do then what the owners manual shows. You can actually set it so that it shows a speedometer and several gauges. This includes different gauges that do not appear next to the speedometer. Every time I play with it, I find something new. I already had nice aftermarket speakers and an amp installed. I do not have a sub woofer but the power is incredible. I believe the volume can be set up as high as “30” but I have not had it any higher then “22”. That is plenty loud enough that I can’t see a reason to turn it higher. I have not played with the CD or DVD player yet but watching it set up for access to the DVD or CD is really cool. I can’t wait to use it in the off road mode. My only two complaints are the mapping system. It works fine but the factory map isn’t that great. I usually plug into the CarPlay from my iPhone and switch over to the Google map instead when traveling (The Google map will easily switch onto the big screen with one touch). When you do find new stuff, it’s easy to set up and easy to use. My other complaint is just the price. In reality, It’s probably a $2,000 stereo. $3,000 is a bit much. Regardless, it’s a great stereo and You will always be finding new things here. To Alpine, as much as you are charging for this system, you should have gone all out on the mapping system. You should contract for a top of the line Garmin mapping system. Otherwise, you nailed it.
