Corsa Performance PowerCore Intake System Reviews
2017 Sport S, 275/70/17 A/T tires, 3:73 gears, steel bumpers, winch, leveling kit. Install was probably one of the easier ones and instructions were very well done. i broke with the instructions slightly as i connected to the throttle body ahead of connecting to air box as the piece that connects the tube to throttle body was difficult to get on the tube side. I took my time and was about an hour overall. Results...a "lag" in acceleration I felt under the stock airbox is gone. It is as silent as stock until you get on it, then it has a deep throaty sound, good sound but if that is your main reason for getting one you might look at others. Love the Donaldson power core filter and it's reputation. I added a prefilter to help ward off water intrusion, Volant has them that fit the Donaldson. I added the prefilter after unit was already installed, was a pain, recommend getting it and putting it on prior to install...make sure you get right size, mine was for 6" Donaldson. The butt Dyno says I feel a little more torque, horsepower I have no idea. Surprisingly, and I wasn't expecting this at all, but gas mileage went up +/- 2 mpg. The best I got previously was 17.8; on a flat road at 60 I hit 21mpg. Was pleased to see that. I got into deep sand and the deep throaty sound was evident as the Jeep worked out of it, which was pleasant. I'm still a little concerned about water intrusion but it is a closed box design, and whether or not the prefilter works, it does give a little more piece of mind. I think it's good quality and again, ease of installation was great. Also, you lose brackets for a small radiator hose when you remove stock, I got four electrical wire clamps and fashioned two each together and connected using stock bolts, $0.71 cost. Would I recommend, depends your intended purpose, but it works for me and so far I like it.
Installed a throttle body spacer at the same time nothing major but definitely is snappier. If your pinching penny’s to buy a upgrade may want to go another route but if cash is not a problem go for it. As a whole looks, sound, and a minor performance upgrade I really like it.
