The Mopar Hardtop Wiring Conversion Kit is for those JL Wranglers that were delivered as soft top only vehicles and have since added a factory 3-Piece Hardtop. To operate the rear defrost and wiper system you need these parts in place of the original parts. New wiring with washer hose to route through the body. Hardtop drain hoses are included. This kit will give you full use of the factory hardtop.

Be aware, the instructions call for 2-3 hours to install. I had a professional shop install the kit and it took them about 8-9 hours to finish and have a dealer flash the system after. Kit is complete and works great. I purchased the kit through the dealer, they wanted 6 hours to install at $230.00 an hour, my shop installed for $90.00 and hour and only charged me fore 4 hours the agreed upon time.

I am currently having this installed on my 2018 JL unlimited. I got a call from the dealer installing it and was notified that the unit I was given does not have the correct stalk setup for my airbag wiring harness/clockspring. They have to order a new clockspring that effectively doubles the parts cost of the conversion. Unfortunately I need this completed so am going to suck it up, pay the extra, and use the kit I received. This is a warning to make sure you have the appropriate setup before heading down an install path that commits you to expensive additional parts.

Installing 11190-1131, stalk is incorrect, due to 3 stage air bag. Will need different stalk/clockspring???
It sounds like you have hit a known roadblock with the 2024+ Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator mid-cycle refresh. While the Mopar 82215221AE is the standard hardtop wiring kit for the JL/JT, the 2024+ models introduced 3-stage airbags (side curtain airbags), which changed the internal steering column architecture. The "incorrect stalk" issue happens because the multi-function switch included in this kit is designed for the older 2-stage airbag clockspring.
Do you need a different clockspring? Yes.
Do not replace your clockspring with the one in this kit. Replacing it with an older 2-stage version would disable your safety systems and throw major SRS (Airbag) codes. Instead, you need to source the correct stalks that are compatible with the 3-stage clockspring but include the rear wiper controls.
The Solution
You need the 2024+ specific version of the wiper stalk. Mopar has updated their parts catalog, but many kits on the shelf still contain the "AD" or "AE" revision stalks meant for older Jeeps.
Verify the Stalk Part Number: Check the box of the stalk included in your 11190-1131 / 82215221AE kit. If it is an older number, it won't fit.
Required Part: For 2024+ vehicles, you generally need the stalk part number ending in BA or BB (or specific to the 2024 refresh).
