Quadratec Spare Tire Relocation Kit Reviews
I put 35' on my new 2025 Jeep Wrangler JL Sport S. Because I am new to the Jeep world, I did not even think about what happens with the spare when it has the oversized tire. So I had to do a bunch of research quickly because I refuse to put any subpar mod on my Jeep and I needed somethingright away. This bracket system was everything they said it was. It worked perfectly, it was easy to install, and my favorite... I absolutely love that Quadratec has wonderfully produced videos that walk you through, step by step, the installation process. I love buying from Quadratec because they only have quality products and their videos that explain the product and show the installation process that even a dummy like me can do my own installs. Can't say enough about how pleased I am with, not only this purchase, but all the purchases I've made through them.
I changed my tires from the factory BFGs 285x70 R17 to 35x12.5 R17. Since the new spare tire (tire + wheel) would not (actually did not fit since I tested before installing this kit) work with the OEM spare tire carrier - Spare tire was about 1 inch to long at the bottom, hitting the steel bumper and preventing the tailgate from closing - I decided to try this kit instead of the MOPAR relocation kit (save some bucks). I'm really glad I did.
This kit is very straight forward and easy to install. Recommend watching the video (kudos to Quadratec here).
My JLU came with the MOPAR tailgate reinforced hinge, so I didn't need to use all the spacers provided with the Quadratec kit on the hinge side of the tailgate.
This relocation kit also renders the OEM tailgate bump stock ineffective - is too short and will not do its job. You will need to buy a new bump stop. I bought the Quadratec Tailgate Spare Tire Bump Stop kit.
Couple of words here ... 1) upon re-installing the spare tire carrier in the new (raised) position, I almost ran out of cable (camera / 3rd breaklight) but managed to get it mounted with a little wiggle and some patience ... 2) Check the combined weight of your new tire + wheel to compare with the manufacturer's spec / recommended weights for the tailgate. In my case, the new AEV Borah wheel + 35"x12.5" tire weighted 99.6 lbs - not a problem since I have the reinforced hinge kit already installed.
Easy install and way less expensive than buying a whole bumper with a spare tire mount. Install took less than an hour and fit my new 37x12.5R17 Ridge Grapplers. Super solid, would highly recommend
Questions

Because this kit moves the spare tire up 1.75 inches and out 0.94 inches, it actually provides more breathing room for the sensors located in the bumper. On a JL Wrangler, the 315/70/17 tire (roughly a 35-inch tire) sits high enough with this bracket that it typically does not "blind" the sensors or cause them to beep constantly.
