Bushwacker 6" Pocket Style Fender Flares Reviews
Great coverage in the 6" size for wider than stock rims/tires, owner pic provided. Noted difference for me over the 4.5" flares after body shop temporarily put wrong one on following road accident.
Some cracks near mounting studs after years of squeezing thru tight trails.
Installed them on my Silver 2006 Rubicon. Honestly they look awesome! They make the Jeep look like new and the slightly wider coverage is helping keep the mud down. Installation of the gasket on the fender before install on the Jeep it a bit tedious. I ended up using masking tape to hold in in place for the install.
Downsides:
1. You may need a utility knife for the install. The side lights did NOT fit and I had to trim the holes for proper fit.
2. Instructions assume that you'll reuse some existing hardware so they short you on the nuts. I'm putting new fender flares on...I want new hardware.
I expected better quality from a reputable company such as Bushwacker. Considering I paid $500 for these fender flares, the quality was very poor. The side marker light holes in the front flares was too small and had to be trimmed out to make the side markers fit. The fender extension, when installed was significantly lower than the factory extension. The rubber edge trim, with 3M tape, would not stick to the flares so I had to use masking tape to hold it in place while installing. Also, a washer and spacer was missing from the fastener bag. Not a big deal but annoying. But my biggest gripe is with the fitment of the rear flares. The rear flares mount 1/2 inch lower than the factory flares. This means that you can see the outline and associated paint scratches of where the factory flares were. No amount of drilling or cutting could solve this problem without destroying the flare. I find this totally unacceptable for a product that costs $500 and claims to be a direct fit. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand of flares. They couldn't fit any worse and would cost you a lot less!
