RockJock Rear Lower Shock Relocaters Reviews
These shock extenders do what they say and seem to be decent quality, they are the same thickness as the original mounting brackets on my dana 44. My issues with it are they seem to be made for wide shocks and the sleeve did not fit in the axle brackets without hammering them larger. I will give the benefit of the doubt in case my shocks are narrower than average, though they are Fox 2.0 performance shocks which I would think would be standard. The brackets measured about 8.67mm larger than the shocks, the kit included two washers for shims, I had to go to my local hardware store to get 8 7/16 washers to act as the shims to make up for the difference. I also had to use the 1/2 x 20 bolts on the axle side instead of the shock end as the instructions stated, the bolt shanks where too big for the shock sleeves and I didn’t want to mess with drilling them out. I did have to run a 1/2” drill bit through the axle bolt holes to fit the new bolts. I also lost some shock travel, not sure exactly how much but my down travel left is 3 5/16” which seems really little, could also be my springs or something else. Overall, if you have the skills to relocate the mounts and weld, I wouldn’t recommend this kit unless you have no other option, Im a bit disappointed as compared to the Currectlync steering kit, this seems like it needs more R&D.
