The Old Man Emu XJGK01 kit is designed to provide a specific, non-adjustable drop rather than a stackable range. While the kit contains six plates (spacers), these are intended to be used together (three per side) to achieve a uniform drop.
Maximum Measurement
The maximum (and intended) drop for this kit is approximately 10.46 mm (roughly 0.41 inches). Kit Breakdown
The six plates in the kit are actually of two different thicknesses to accommodate the stepped mounting surface of the Cherokee XJ's transmission crossmember:
4 plates are 10.46 mm thick.
2 plates are 6.32 mm thick.
When installed, the thicker plates provide the primary drop measurement, while the thinner plates are often used as "spacers" for specific mounting points to ensure the crossmember sits level.
Important Fitment Notes
Intended Lift Height: This kit is specifically engineered for 2-inch to 2.5-inch suspension lifts.
Higher Lifts: If you have a 3-inch or higher lift, a 0.4-inch drop may not be enough to eliminate driveline vibrations. In those cases, most XJ owners look for a 1-inch drop kit or, ideally, a Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE).
