It fits great! I found that you need to start installing the seal on the passenger side for it to fit properly. If you start on the driver side, it ends up being too long. Be sure to seat it all the way into the grove. Strange and I can tell you why.

This fit my 02 wrangler perfectly. I will say that you need to start from the passenger side first and work your way around. I tried from drivers side first and had about 1” too much. Not sure how it worked out the other way but it does.

I need to seal the gap between the tailgate and rear window. I have removed the top a few times, but the last time the seal is bad or missing. What weaterstrip do I need to close the gap between the tailgate and read window I have a 2004 Unlimited.
For your 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ), the weatherstrip you mentioned is exactly what you need to seal the horizontal gap between the top of the tailgate and the bottom of the rear glass (or rear curtain zipper). It installs directly onto the tailgate bar (the metal or plastic bar that slides onto the bottom of your rear window) to create a watertight seal against the tailgate.

Can you point me to the part that is the strip that sits along the top of the tailgate. It is present on both my jeeps (hard top and soft top)
