Perfect fit on a 2013 Wrangler. Do note the accessory tab is the outer one on the switch. Otherwise the light on the switch stays on all the time. The tab furthest from the other two is the ground for the light on the switch. This is not provided in the instructions.

Will most rocker switches similar to what's shown work with the pillar mount? Looking to use a 7 pin DPDT switch in it to control the dual battery solenoid. I can't find the dimensions or switch style the pillar mount accepts.

Yes, a 7-pin DPDT rocker switch will physically fit the Rugged Ridge 17235.96 A-Pillar Switch Pod, as it is designed to accept industry-standard "Contura" style rocker switches.
The pre-molded cutouts on this pod are sized for standard full-size rocker switches. While Rugged Ridge does not always list the exact millimeter specs, these cutouts are designed for the following standard dimensions:
Hole Cutout Size: Approximately 0.83" x 1.45" (21mm x 37mm).
Switch Style: Standard Rocker / Contura II & V.
7-Pin DPDT Fitment: The number of pins on the back of the switch (3, 5, or 7) does not change the physical size of the switch face or the body that sits in the cutout. As long as your 7-pin DPDT switch is a standard "Snap-in" rocker switch, it will fit into the pod.
Switch Rating: The switches included in the kit are typically rated for 21 Amps at 14VDC. Ensure your 7-pin DPDT switch is rated appropriately for your solenoid's trigger wire.
Backside Clearance: Because you are using a 7-pin switch for a dual battery solenoid, you will have a significant amount of wiring (7 wires plus potentially thick gauges). While the pod snaps into the factory location, the space behind the pillar is tight. You may need to route your wires carefully to ensure the pod can snap flush against the roll bar.

Anyone used this on a 2018 jku? I think the pillar is lined up different

The 2018 model year is split. Early 2018 are JK Wrangler, mid year change over to the JL Wrangler would be a different A pillar.
