Questions

Why It Might Not Fit:
U-Incompatible Joint Series: The Rough Country 5078.1 drive shaft comes equipped with 1310 series universal joints to match the factory 1987-1993 YJ specifications.
Dana 44 Yoke Variations: Depending on what vehicle your Dana 44 axle was pulled from (or if an aftermarket pinion yoke was installed), it may feature a larger 1330 series or 1350 series U-joint strap pattern rather than the standard 1310.
If your Dana 44 has a 1310 yoke, it will bolt right up. If it uses a larger series, you will either need a conversion U-joint (such as a 1310-to-1330 joint) or a matching pinion yoke swap.
