Skyjacker Standard 2.5" Suspension Lift Kit Reviews
Ted D.

This is a great kit! Old suspension was installed (poorly by a previous owner) and I wasn't sure of the prior lift. My 92 YJ handles great and has a good ride quality now. Springs coating is weak though. 1 year in and they look like the old ones.
Questions

What is the difference between the sport and the standard 2.5 skyjacker lift?

While Skyjacker offers various lift kit series, the primary difference between their "Sport" and "Standard" Jeep lift kits often comes down to the type and quality of the components included, particularly the shocks, and sometimes the overall focus of the kit.
Here's a breakdown of the typical distinctions:
Skyjacker "Standard" Lift Kits:
Focus: These are generally their more budget-friendly lift options. They aim to provide the advertised lift height for increased tire clearance and a more aggressive look.
Shocks: Standard kits often include their basic hydraulic shocks (like the Hydro 7000 series). These shocks are designed to be an improvement over stock but may not offer the same level of ride comfort or off-road performance as higher-tier options.
Components: The kit will include the essential components to achieve the lift, such as coil springs or leaf springs, and necessary hardware. They might include basic sway bar disconnects or track bar relocation brackets, depending on the lift height and vehicle.
Ride Quality: The ride quality might be firmer than stock and geared more towards occasional off-roading and a lifted appearance.
Skyjacker "Sport" Lift Kits:
Focus: "Sport" kits are typically positioned as an upgrade over the standard kits, offering better on and off-road performance and ride quality.
Shocks: These kits often include higher-performance shocks, such as their Nitro 8000 series or even more advanced options in some cases. These shocks are designed to offer better damping, control, and comfort across various terrains.
Components: Sport kits might include additional or upgraded components compared to the standard kits. This could involve better quality sway bar disconnects, adjustable track bars for precise axle centering, longer or adjustable control arms to correct suspension geometry, and potentially even steering correction components.
Ride Quality: The ride quality with a "Sport" kit is generally expected to be more refined and offer better handling both on the street and when tackling more challenging off-road trails.
