Reviews for Quadratec QRC Front Winch Ready Bumper for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Overall I like it. It's the design I wanted. Install took a little longer then 5 hours with a buddy. Uninstalled of the factory bumper, installed new bumper and installed a winch at the same time. This was our first time doing and bumper work. The bumper had some scrap damage on both ends in the tube corners that lead to the fenders. After Install, one tube is about 1/4 inch from the fender, the other side touches it. The middle measurements are the same, leading me to believe one side is slightly bent. Install was fairly straight forward and simple. I reused the JT's fog lights. It comes with 4mm bolts, nuts, and tiny washers for the fog lights. You need to get your fingers into a small area to bolt everything blindly witch probably to the longest. I'm guessing an hour, it was a trail and error type situation. With all that said, I'll give it 4 stars due to the minor damage, alignment, and Install process.
Compatible with factory fog lights.
Install was quick and straight forward. Instructions are good. I had the same problem as many with powder coat in the fog light screw holes. Rather than tap them clean I drilled them and used the screws and nuts that came with the bumper. Plenty of nuts in the package to do this.. 4 stars for that and one bent light bracket that I could straighten with a pair of pliers.
This is very well built and looks great. The only thing I don't like is the weight. It's significantly heavier than other front bumpers.
It is full front and good reviews and winch ready.
This bumper is definitely solid. Down sides are there isn’t a comparable winch plate to cover up the unfinished look before putting a winch in and when putting the bumper on, the bolts might not line up 100% so you may need to loosen the frame horns until they fall freely, then put the bumper on, then line the frame horns up and tighten them back down. Everything else is very easy as long as you pay attention to the directions. I was able to do it in the dark/rain. Minus one star for the lack of winch plate and direction but overall great, SOLID product. Recommend purchasing the sway bar skid plate with the bumper.
Price, ease of installation and factory fog lights fit.
Very solid stout bumper and I’m very happy how it looks on my jeep. Debated buying this bumper for months and finally ordered it and I’m glad I did! Love how it looks. I had the same experience as some previous reviews. I could only get 7 of the 8 mounting bolts to line up. Tried several different attempts at removing the bolts and started over using different bolt patterns but still the same result every attempt. Top outside drivers side bolt just wouldn’t line up. Gave up. Called quadratec about the issue and customer service on the issue was A++.
The bumper is nice and sturdy. It looks great and packaged well. Overall experience is good, taking apart the factory plastic one wasn’t that hard. Putting this one went relatively smooth except the areas for the fog lights. The instructions are decent but they could be a little bit better if it was a diagram and not a picture that just had areas circled. The are for the fog lights isn’t the best design by any means. This is the part that took the longest. If you have big fingers this will be a struggle. You think they’d come up with a better way. If you have to replace the lights at any point it’s going to be a struggle again. Overall I like the bumper and install was pretty easy overall.
I've had the bumper for 8 months or so now so I have enough experience to review fully I think.
Good: Value! Got mine when they were still $350, but even at $450 (as of this review) it's a pretty extraordinary value. Absolutely get your money's worth. Very nice looking and a perfect match for dimensions/lines of a Sport/Sahara. Has just the right combo of aggressive and functional without looking out of place on the trail OR mall crawling. Mounted a Smittybilt 9500 winch w/syn line and hawse fairlead and it looks fantastic - Perfectly contained but still sits up enough to be accessible. Love that there are two sets of aux light mounts. Fender tubes give even more options for mounting lights.
Bad: Like others, I also could only mount with 7 bolts. Pretty odd but consistent mfg defect it seems. Rust has begun forming pretty heavily already. Suspect it has to do with winter roads (mag chloride/sand), but pretty disappointing. Kudos to Quadratec though, they shipped a replacement out no-questions asked. Always top notch support. Looking at an additional coating/rust prevention before I put the replacement on. Finally, i'd like to see the fog lights altered to be recessed less. Don't necessarily need to be flush, but it definitely hinders a wide pattern beam the way they are.
