Installation was a breeze - hooked right into factory harness and fit with no modifications. Sounded great - for a while. After a few months started working sporadically - I wasn't sure if was the sub, amp or head unit. Eventually started rattling and became evident it was a blown sub. Didn't last long at all and I'm a 50+ guy that doesn't abuse it. Look around for 6 to 6.75" subs - preferably with dual voice coil and 2 ohm rating. They are out there for half the price if you look.

Todd is entirely correct, speaker sounds awesome, but one good hit of bass and it self destructed, strangely enough it was a country song! I don't recommend this if you have anything other than the stock setup.

Worked for 3 months, then nothing. Checked all settings and connections. Replaced with a kicker sub and the sound was unbelievably better. I would not even consider buying this product again.

This is junk. Lasted 6 months. Removed from center console to check it was speaker and wiring to voice coil has a short in it.

Sounded good until It blew 2 months after installing

Easy to install, but only lasted 6 months. I don't listen to bass heavy music or even listen to music loud for real. Any time the bass note hits it pops. Super disappointed. I guess I'll have to get something from an actual speaker manufacturer. Trash.

Ordered item twice within three years of each other speakers keep going blowing out

I had to buy another one because after 13 months I noticed it was blown out. Pulled the console apart to check n see if amp was blown n to check the speaker. A wire that goes from the center of the speaker to the terminal broke off the speaker. Asked about the warranty even though it was 13 months but could have been blown for months God only knows. I thought I might catch a break with all the coin I've spent at quadratic but never got an answer.

I have to agree with many of the others. I’ve been a Quadratec guy since 90’s and love all the things. Recently replaced with this speaker and have to say it bombed out after about week 3. It still works but sounds horrible due to the voice coil leads rattling and occasionally even coming loose. I used e-tape to hold the leads back from the cone but after about 10-15 min it starts rattling again and sounds horrible. I didn’t return due to troubleshooting the factory amp originally and trying after market as well. Not one of my better investments.

This speaker only lasted two weeks before it quit working! If I thought it would do any good, I would return this paperweight to Quadratec. I would not recommend this speaker to anyone!! Instead you should look into the 6.75" offered by Kicker. It may not be a perfect fit, but the added effort of installation is well worth it for a unit that holds up.
