I notice that there are seal/gasket kits available for this top, especially where the top and body connect on the rear quarter panels. Are these necessary/recommended?
The gaskets and seals are replacements for the original seals that would be on from the factory. A gasket between the body and hardtop shell would definitely be recommended to keep water from getting in while the vehicle is in motion.

My 2017 did not come with hard top but has wiring, switches and connections for rear window wipers and defroster.
Does this top have the wiper and defrost?
Yes it does both the defrost and wiper. That makes installation easy for you. Just bolt it down and hook it up.

We have an 08, is there not a Mopar factory hardtop option for 07 and 08 owners?
Jeep changed the pitch of the windshield for the 2009 model year. To use one of those hardtops you will need an adapter #82212462 or found here https://www.quadratec.com/products/11190_2900_07.htm. Otherwise you have to find an original hardtop from a 2007-2008 Wrangler, which Jeep is no longer making.

I wanted to clarify - Are these windows tinted to match the factory front windows? Or do they come with the deep tint, much darker look?
