Reviews for Quadratec LED Tail Light Kit for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
These are exactly what I was hoping they'd be. They look JUST like the pictures (which is rare) They're super bright (see pictures I took on a sunny day) They are one solid cast of light, very well diffused unlike some versions I've seen where you can still see the individual led's when up close. Like other reviews said, they only take 15 minutes to install, 100% plug and play with built in resistors so you don't get any flicker issues or burn out bulb indicators on your dash. My only complaint with the lights is that installing any guards on them would be a pain in the ass as you would have to unplug and re plug the wiring ,
Fit perfect on my '98 TJ, easy to install, work great! Plastic housings, but at least they won't rust out!
I see these on other vehicles around town and they look great. They felt like they were good quality, they did not work on my 2003 Jeep. Even with the flasher upgrade.
Your gonna go digging in the passenger wheel well for the connector but its in there. Easy to install the lights. On my 06 the blinker module is located in the steering wheel hub cover. That was a surprise. You will for sure need to replace this part. LEDs have very little resistance and wont operate correctly with the old blinker module.
Finally found where I can make reviews...I hate it that people don't post reviews here.
I love these lights, they installed relatively easy other than I needed to pull a few of the wires through on the reverse lights so I could get in to tighten the screws...other than that I am really like these tail lights!!
A great product and a super easy plug and play install. The rhythm of the blinker seems to be a little erratic but this could be a quirk of my jeep. All in all no complaints and they put out a ton of light.
Works as advertised. Only criticism is that there are three mounting holes in the jeep body but the lights only have one hole. Will have to locate and drill the other two holes in the light fixture as over time the single screw holding it to the body could loosen causing the fixture to become crooked.
Very easy to install on my 97 Sahara. The only exception to the install guide is that on the driver’s side housing you will have to unscrew the clear plastic piece containing the license plate light and lower it to screw in and tighten the two lower housing screws and then re-attach the clear piece, there is no room to get a socket on the screw while this clear piece is in place.
The other exception is on the passenger side light, because the Cyclops light is a part of that wiring harness you cannot get the plug outside of the vehicle (the install guide mentions this possibility) so I secured the light housing to the rear without connecting the wires and they hung low enough to connect them from under the rear quarter panel.
Couldn't believe the amount of dirt that had accumulated behind my old lights.
Also the bracket holding the fuse under the dash panel is designed to fit into groves on the old fuse, the new one has no groves so using pliers I bent the tabs in the bracket out a little and zip tied the bracket to the new fuse so it could be reused with the screw holding it up under the dash.
So they are installed, they work, they're bright and they look good.
Finally got them working 2 things. You didn't send any replacement mounting bolts with the kit would have been nice since mine were corroded and stripped. 2nd thing put a note in your instructions lights will not work until bolted to the body. Lights ground through the mounting bolt I connected them just to check them to see if they worked cause I am old school and that's how I roll took me a couple days to realize why they weren't working the conventional lights will light just plugging them in.
Not as bright as i wanted but good
