Reviews for Quadratec Adventure Mirrors for 76-26 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ, YJ, CJ & Gladiator JT
Well built for the price, but make no mistake, the end goal of these is to keep you street legal and nothing else. Whistle starts around 40-45mph, and mirrors fold inward at highway speeds of 55mph+. Doesn't matter how much you wrench down the nut, they're going to move. Quick and easy install, not sure why these are considered a "Level 2" install. Also recommend slapping a small blind spot mirror in the corner.
They keep you street legal. They whistle around 40mph (maybe try really tightening them onto your hinge? As well, they will move so keep an eye on adjustment. Ultimately, they look nice and they do their job of allowing you to drive your jeep doorless.
Washers that get clamped down are weak. Had to replace mine
Also used a few wraps of electrical tape on shaft under the top washers. This snugs the post into hinge and also retains the top washers. These get the job done so you at least have something. Mine don't vibrate too bad (maybe from tape) and they've been stable up to 55. (haven't tested on highway yet) One of the mirrors whistles a bit from wind hitting the back near adjustment screws, haven't figured that out yet. Ultimately happy and recommend them.
These mirrors work great with my 2000 TJ, installation took about 10 minutes and are very easy to adjust or remove. The only reason for the 4 star is the nylon washers bend a lot when you tighten the mirrors and might break but I don’t think it’s a major issue
Got to tighten up as much as you can and may still move on the highway.
The fit was perfect. I may need to buy some additional plastic/rubber washers as these parts will wear out after a few seasons.
Good size mirrors. They do shake quite a bit at highway speed.
Nice mirrors and they look good.
Serves the purpose and keeps you legal so you don't get a ticket. Mirrors are small and don't provide a lot of visibility and they can be a bit rattley on bumpy roads.
