Reviews for Quadratec Adventure Mirrors for 76-25 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ, YJ, CJ & Gladiator JT
Easy to install. Work great! No movement even at high speeds on the highway. Only downside is the dash partially obstructs the passenger side mirror.
Good mirrors for the price. Easy install.
Cons: They viberate.
They work. Simple to install. Vibration present but not bad. I love having them. Not too prone to getting blown back by the wind. Tightening the nuts seems to have helped. A suggestion for improvement— use a rubber washer, like tires are made of, instead of the plastic washers. Soft, non-scratching, but I bet it would eliminate the problem of the mirrors getting blown back.
Love them. Installed them on my JT without the nylon washers and a little electrical tape on the insert, they don't twist at all, even at 80mph.
Serves it's purpose! Keeps me street legal and gives me just enough of a view so I'm not totally blind. Yes, they vibrate, yes, they kind of turn in when on the highway due to the wind. But they are exactly what you need to stay legal on the road with the doors off. Easy to install (under 5 minutes) and off and running!
Work great. Yes they vibrate a little but still very functional. Had no issue with them folding in. I wish they would make some that re use the stock door screws or something else that uses the same T50 bit you are already using to remove doors. I bought some 3/8" wing nuts to make them tool less. I'm happy - mainly needed them to stay legal in my state - at least two functioning rear mirrors required, I am just using the driver's side and rear view to satisfy that requirement. Might give the other one to my buddy since it too can be configured as a driver's side.
Great price and easy install. However, I ran in to two problem. The bolt for the driver's side had some thread damage that made it difficult to tighten the mounting arm enough to keep it from moving at highway speeds. I took it apart, repaired and lubed the threads and it's all good now. The other problem I have is whistling above 35 MPH. It seems to be caused by the two little ribs that are molded in to the rubber surround on the mirror head. Not sure how to fix it for the long term but a quick wrap with electric tape eliminated the whistling.
I ordered these for spring, summer and fall riding when my doors are off. They work perfectly. You do have to replace the plastic nylon washer that come with them because they’re not thick enough. I bought washers from Lowe’s. ( Hillman Nylon Spacers: 3/4 x .385 x 13/64 H# 880446 ) I submit a photo. Quadratec Rocks
Easy installation and they look great. Reasonable price. They have nylon washers to protect the paint. They do vibrate but that is to be expected to some extent (thus 4 stars and not 5). All in all a great inexpensive simple solution to replace your sideview mirrors when your doors are off your Jeep.
I love these. It took a few times to get them where I wanted, but now they sit just right.
