In the pictures, it shows that the crank mount is placed on the wall directly behind the back window. Can this same crank mount be placed on a wall outside the passenger or drivers side door?
Yes you can mount the crank on which ever wall will have the best access and least foot traffic.

No this will not work with the Gladiator at the moment. Lange is working on a new load-bar for the balance and grip on the JT hardtop.

Yes, it is a ratcheting winch. It will stay locked wherever you stop cranking.
