Bestop All-New Trektop NX Soft Top Reviews
Awesome so far! The installation did take a little while, but was pretty straightforward. Once completed, the sunroof didn’t quite fit correctly likely due to some misalignment I did while installing. Got another friend, and we bent it the correct way in about 5 minutes. No problems since. Pretty quiet, and easily survived the past few storms. The only problem I have is once everything is in, the bottoms of the windows arent super snug, which causes some flapping at higher speeds. But, would definitely recommend.
Had best top before considered best in the industry

Questions

Why You Need New Hardware:
The Trektop NX is Frameless: This top design is "frameless," meaning it does not use the complex bow assembly, folding mechanism, or tensioning hardware that a factory soft top requires. It mounts directly to the vehicle's sport bar and utilizes your factory door surrounds.
Factory Tops Use a Bow Assembly: A standard factory-style soft top is a "frame-mounted" system. It requires the factory folding bow assembly (the metal frame that expands and retracts) that attaches to the rear of the Jeep's body tub. If you have never had a factory soft top installed on your Jeep (or if the previous owner removed the frame assembly when installing the Trektop), you do not have the necessary components.
What You Will Need to Source:
To revert to a factory-style top, you will typically need to purchase a complete Soft Top Frame Assembly Kit. This usually includes:
Folding Bow Assembly: The metal frame that allows the top to fold back and forth.
Tensioning Hardware: The springs, pivot points, and locking knobs that secure the frame to the vehicle.
Tailgate Bar and Clips: The bar that secures the rear window to the tailgate.
Door Surrounds: While the Trektop uses door surrounds, ensure they are compatible with the factory top you choose; fortunately, factory-style soft tops typically use the same standard door surrounds as the Trektop NX.
Important Tip: Because sourcing individual pieces (bows, springs, and knobs) can be very expensive and difficult to align, the most efficient way to switch back is to find a complete factory soft top take-off. These are often sold by other Jeep owners who have upgraded to hard tops or aftermarket frameless tops.
