Bestop Supertop Glide Softop Reviews
Install was pretty easy and straight forward, there is a really good instruction video on YouTube. However there were multiple quality issue with the welds and threads that are kind unacceptable at this price point. There were multiple threads that were not welded in line with the holes on the bracket, and some that were already damaged/defective. I was able to use a able to use a drill to elongate the holes on the bracket so that they lined up with the threads welded to the bottom and use a tap to fix the defecrive threads, but at over $2k I shouldn't have to do that. Once installed the top works great and is super convenient. I highly recommend it, but if your not able to fix the quality issues yourself you might want to have the install done at a shop
Great top once its assembled. Took nearly six hours due to the garbage instructions and images used in the manual. Nothing is labeled leaving you guessing which side is which. The screws are also very easy to cross thread if not extremely careful. At least the top only needs to be assembled once.
Bestop can do some basic quality of life improvements to the manual, such as actually pictures, instead of drawings. Even b/w pictures would be an improvement. Some basic labeling of the parts would be a huge improvement, maybe an etched L or R or a TOP or BOTTOM.
Absolute nightmare to install. Seven hours. Largely because of the garbage instructions. Tiny drawings that leave you guessing, and vague. I've assembled and installed two Bestop tops in the past with no issue, and I assemble and install all sorts of things. This was the worst experience I've ever had, hands down. Seven hours in the full sun, screaming, cursing, and regretting this purchase. Bestop has a video that isn't much help either (comments turned off, presumably because people would tell them what they thought of their shoddy instructions). They get $1,899 for this thing,. They should take some of that sweet cash and hire someone who can illustrate well and explain things better.
