This kit allows you to mount one SSC1 or C1R LED pod in your 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, adding a high-power reverse light, additional running light, and an optional 4th brake light with the C1R option. With the included wiring harness, this kit connects to your vehicle's factory trailer hitch wiring for simple, everyday operation. This kit is completely plug-and-play with all 7-pin trailer connectors. The included harness plugs right into your factory trailer hitch wiring for easy installation and operation. The kit operates as an additional red running light with your tail lights, and then automatically switches to a high-power backup light when your vehicle is in reverse.
The high-power 4th brake light feature included with the C1R Kit will activate anytime you apply your brakes. If you would like to have override functionality to manually turn on the reverse light anytime, you will need to purchase the universal backup harness.
The Stage Series C1 (SSC1) serves as both the optic and main lens for greater efficiency and light output (patent 1pending). Thanks to this innovative feature, when coupled with high-intensity LED chips, the total intensity of the SSC1 is much greater than other LED pods using basic optics or reflectors with a standard outer lens. the SSC1 collects all of the light from the LED and directs it only where you need it, drastically reducing glare and improving total efficiency.

This reverse-LED pod kit is a serious upgrade over whatever stock reverse lighting you’ve got. The light output is crisp and bright, and the mount in a 2-inch hitch receiver means you get a clean, solid setup. Wiring is plug-and-play using the 7-pin trailer connector, no messing around with cutting wires. Install took maybe 5 minutes. Looks way more rugged and purposeful than OEM reverse/backup lights.

The included wiring harness has a 7-pin connector on one end that plugs into your vehicle's trailer socket. The other end connects to the LED pod.
Therefore, to use this light with a vehicle that only has a 4-pin trailer connector, you would need a 4-pin to 7-pin adapter.

Just looked under my 2017 JKU Sport, I didn't notice any plugs how would this work?

Will this product work on a 2020 Wrangler JL Unlimited Sport S? I added a tow hitch but I do not have a factory wiring harness.
The Diode Dynamics DD7420 HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Kit is designed to be plug-and-play with the factory 7-pin trailer connector on the 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL and 2020+ Gladiator JT. Since you added an aftermarket tow hitch and do not have a factory wiring harness, this kit will not work for you in its standard form. The Diode Dynamics DD7420 HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Kit will not be a simple plug-and-play solution for your 2020 Wrangler JL Unlimited Sport S without a factory trailer wiring harness. You will need to install a wiring harness and possibly modify the Diode Dynamics kit's wiring to make it function.
