Description
The Mopar 2" Hitch Receiver is for the Jeep Wrangler JL as a bolt-on upgrade. Designed to fit with the step pad plastic bumper offered on Sahara, Rubicon and some special edition Wranglers, this hitch receiver installs with two of the bolts that are holding the bumper in place currently, plus an additional two of #06104246AA. Once installed you will have Class 2 towing capacity at 3,500 lbs and a 350 lb tongue weight for cargo racks and baskets.

I use Quadratec because they're Jeep experts, but selling a hitch without proper hardware makes absolutely no sense. When I inquire, your service team directs me toward item #12015-1060. So with hardware (4 bolts, 2 nuts) and a hitch cover, it's $200 more; plus you only need half of the bolts supplied. Save yourself the headache and buy from Rough Country or Amazon.

Is there a difference between this receiver and the Hitch Kit (82215209)?
68251844AB is the hitch only and 82215209 is with hardware and a hitch plug. Thanks for your inquiry.

If I don't already have the towing package, does that mean I need to purchase the version with the wiring?
If you are planning on using the hitch for towing of any type then you will need the wiring kit as well. If you are merely adding the receiver for accessories like bike racks, carriers and baskets then the wiring kit is not necessary.
