Quadratec Daytime Running Light DRL Adapter Wiring Harness Reviews
I had the same issue as Chad S. but the DRL would also blink when the left turn signal was on. I noticed that the wiring into one of the connectors (male pin side) was the opposite of what it should be, so I pulled the pins out and reinserted in the opposite order. It worked fine after that. I am going to ask for an exchange, as removing and reinserting the pins definitely stresses the wires and connector. Sounds like a quality control problem.
As Dan M. notes, you will need two of these if you want to turn off the associated Halo when using either turn signal. They should note this in the description.
BIG ISSUE with this wiring harness. As mentioned by Chaz S. The harness does, in fact, knock out your parking lights. Here is the reason: The wiring harness is built incorrectly!! The main side connector of the harness is fine. The fender side end of the connector is installed backwards. The wires are in the exact opposite order from where they should be. There is a locator between pins 5 and 6 you will notice the wires are mismatched. The SOLUTION is to remove the wire loom from the harness. The cut wires at the exact same length as far from the fender side connector as possible to facilitate soldering or butt connectors. Flip the connector over and reconnect the wires in the opposite order that they were connected. I have completed this task and the harness is now working properly. The harness itself is of excellent build quality with the exception of the connector being installed backwards.
This is an outstanding product. I'm so glad I didn't have to splice into my wires. I used the DRL leads to wire up the Halo rings on my headlights. I used the running lamp lead to wire into my marker lamps in my front grille. Basically I just reached inside the engine compartment on the drivers side, pulled the xmas tree connector that holds the wire out of the body, then plugged this in. Passenger side was a little harder, had to work it from underneath. The quick connectors were super convenient and they have inline fuses which is nice. I ordered one for each side so the DRL's on each headlight would go off when the turn signal on that side goes on. My only complaint is that the instructions were wrong. The instructions say the DRL's are on the red wire and running lamps on yellow. It's actually the reverse of that. Aside from the mistake in the instructions, this is an awesome item.
