Quadratec Maximum Duty Hydro 7.0 Shock Kit Reviews

Installed on my 98 jeep tj daily driver with stock suspension. Saw good reviews on these and liked the price. Liked the looks of these also. Great ride and installation was straightforward. Grease to install the bushings and penetrating lube will be your friend!

I have a 2000 xj and just wanted a shock that would be as good as stock. These are a way better ride than stock and were easy to install and look way cooler than stock

What size shock do I need if I have 4-5 inches of lift?

For a 1984–2006 Jeep Cherokee XJ or Wrangler TJ with 4–5 inches of lift, the standard Quadratec Maximum Duty Hydro 7.0 Shock Kit is typically divided into two categories that overlap your lift height.
Because you are right on the edge of the common 3.5"–4.5" and 5"+ brackets, your choice depends on how much suspension "droop" (extension) you want versus avoiding "bottoming out" the shock.
For most 4-inch lifts, the 3.5"–4.5" lift range shocks are the standard choice. If you are closer to a true 5-inch lift or use your Jeep for heavy off-roading, you may consider the 5"+ versions to allow for more downward travel.
Front Shocks (3.5"–4.5" Lift):
Collapsed Length: 14.52"
Extended Length: 24.30"
Travel: 9.78"
Rear Shocks (3.5"–4.5" Lift):
Collapsed Length: 14.91"
Extended Length: 24.94"
Travel: 10.03"
Key Fitment Considerations:
Bump Stops: If you choose the longer 5"+ lift shocks, you must ensure your bump stops are long enough. If the shock "bottoms out" (reaches its fully collapsed state) before the axle hits the bump stop, you can permanently damage the internal valving of the shock.

Does this come with the mounting hardware? Or will I have to order that separately?

You will either reuse existing hardware currently on the Jeep or replacement hardware will need to be purchased seperately.

Hi, I have a 05 Wrangler TJ, all original, just wondering these shocks are fit for my Jeep ?
Thanks.

The first option selection in the drop down menu for stock ride 0" lift height to 1.5" of lift will be a compatible for your stock Jeep suspension. Thanks for your inquiry.
