We all know there is just something about a Jeep that screams fun and freedom. That whole top down, wind in your face, open road ahead, kind of excitement.

And for all you dog lovers out there, it really seems to be the same feelings your four-legged furry travelers get, too. Right?

Well, if you are out celebrating National Love Your Pet Day Thursday with your best friends, you will be happy to know

Autotrader has chosen the Jeep Wrangler JL as one of its top-10 Best Vehicles for Dog Lovers.

That’s right. The off-road, adventurous, rugged, fun, Wrangler, is also perfect for your dog’s outdoor adventures as well. And, really, we all know the vehicle is perfect for any of your pet companions as well.

In highlighting the Jeep Wrangler JL, Autotrader says “The removable top and doors allow your dog the ultimate ‘head out the window’ experience." The vehicle also offers many modern conveniences such as navigation through its UConnect system, so you and your best friend can get where your going, heated steering wheel and seats for comfort, and helpful safety equipment such as forward-collision warning and braking.

Plus, as the vehicle is easily modified, you can even get some great cargo management systems like the DirtyDog Pet Divider to help keep your animal safely in the back of your Jeep, while things like protective floor liners help keep the inside looking factory fresh.

National Love Your Pet Day is celebrated February 20th as a way to embrace one special trait that makes us all human—the love for our pets. A recent Gallup survey showed that 60 percent of Americans are pet owners—with dogs (40 percent) and cats (25%) making up the majority of pets. Fish, birds and hamsters are also high on the list.

Playing with your pets, giving them gifts and cuddling remain among the top three things to do, according to a National Love Your Pet Day survey, while showing your pet something new, and spoiling it, are among the day's top activities.

So in your award-winning, pet-friendly, Jeep Wrangler, why not take that pet of yours out for a nice drive. Maybe find some back roads and let it check out the scenery. You know you want to—and your pet knows as well.

Have fun, and Happy National Love Your Pet Day.
