Perfect all-in-one hoist and storage solution!

My garage is a tight fit. It was a 2 car garage but the previous owner built a little room for the laundry to make more room inside the house proper. This means with my tools, 3 ATVs, the JKU, my workbench and other stuff, there isn't enough room for the top to sit flat on the floor. Also, the garage roof is a vaulted ceiling so a cable hoist wouldn't work, and the open garage door is too close to the ceiling of the loft to allow a hard top to fit between.

I have been using a conventional storage cart for the top, but still had to rely on friends and family to help remove and install the hard top. This Hoist a Cart solves all of these problems!

The instruction manual seemed to be missing information about installing the crank winch to the cart but if you are even the least bit mechanically inclined, it should be self-evident as to how it installs. Overall the material quality and design are very well thought out and I am thoroughly impressed with the end result.

In my case since I already have the top removed, it took a bit of puzzling things out to get the top on the cart and the straps adjusted properly, but after getting everything adjusted, the top is on the cart and the crane is folded down for storage. It takes up only maybe an additional 6 or 8 inches than the previous cart, but the crane and winch arrangement make this so much more valuable. Best part is when everything is totally collapsed and stowed it fits under an 8 foot ceiling!

There are several different height positions for the crane arm so if you get a lift and tires, the hoist can grow with your jeep. This is a fantastic product and if it disappeared into thin air I'd buy another one as soon as I could afford it. Jeeps are about freedom, and the ability to take your hard top on and off by yourself definitely frees you up!

Great product! The online video was so simple to follow. I love that this product made it so that I have more space in my garage. Taking off the top used to be a major event: getting enough help to lift and then taking up a quarter of the garage storing it. Now, I can take off the top and store it in a corner of the garage by myself. Thanks and two thumbs up!!

This works great at a price tag much less than the top lift pro. I am 5”1 female and I am able to use it to take my hard top off myself! I am in love!! Highly recommend this top lift.

Great product. Assembled easy and works as advertised. Watch the assembly video on Youtube. The only suggestion I would make is that when your attaching the crank handle onto the winch, do what the instructions say and only thread it onto the shaft until it hits the brake disc. I tightened it to much and it would not go in reverse. Overall I am very satisfied and recommend this product. Also, fast shipping from Quadratec, thanks guys.

I recently purchased the Lange Original Hoist-A-Cart Gen 2 in the middle of the Covid-19 crisi in late April. The unit arrived within two weeks. It comes disassembled in two boxes which can be intimidating for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of experience putting products like this together. But it was a relatively simple and straightforward assembly. It took me close to three hours, but could easily be done in half that time by those with more experience at these things than me. In addition, there are very helpful videos on YouTube to aid in the assembly. The bottom line, the Hoist-A-Cart worked perfectly. Removing my Jeep Hard Top is now a simple, one-person job. I highly recommend this product.

What a great Cart. Got my top off in minutes. The instructions were good and found extra video instructions by doing a youtube search for hoist a cart gen 2. Great fast shipping by quadratec. this is a must have for jeep owners to remove the top.

Overall I am very pleased with the hoist-a-cart. It worked flawlessly to remove and re-install the top on my JLU by my self. Why the 4 stars and not 5? Well I look at it this way - n the cart is designed to hold the top and front doors. What about the back doors? What about the freedom top panels? It would be preferable to me to have a version that held the whole top for the JLU (freedom panels plus rigid top) vs. some of the top and some of the doors. I get it…real jeeps are 2 door and this addresses that. I used to have a TJ and understand the ‘real jeeps are 2 door’ mentality. I have had it myself. But I’ve come to appreciate the benefits of a 4-door jeep. The hoist-a-cart works flawlessly to remove and re-install a hard top by myself. I would just like to see a cart more focused on a 4-door jeep…

I did not want he hassle of installing a roof rack and then finding a place to store the hard top. This rack seems easy to operate with one person and the added benefit of easy, movable storage within my garage. Only rating 4 stars because I do not have the product yet and don't know how well it will work in the "real world" of my garage.

Straps and not cables, sliding bottom for top and ability to hang doors on it also.
