Reviews for Lange Originals 014-GEN2 Hoist-A-Cart Gen 2 for 07-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & JK
Ok where should I begin. The paper instructions really didn’t help much ( black and white) . You cant figure out installing it but the on line video is so much better! Made it so simple. But in my case after putting it together out side of my garage I found out I couldn’t roll it in. The garage door was too low so I had to wind down the top to the floor, lower the top hinge bracket pass the lower screw (which I don’t use any more) in order to roll it inside.(not in the storage stage) then raise the top hinge bracket back up to put the hard top in the storage position but be in mine that if you have a low ceiling you will need to move it far back in the garage because it will not raise high enough due to the open garage door being in the way. After spending much time on how to make it work I finally got it in and store. This works best if your garage has 10ft opening. But I can say you can remove your hardtop bu your self, something I was looking for. Love the straps instead of the wires. In all I’m glad I got this and after knowing how to take the hardtop off and storing it I’m impressed! Just a couple of extra steps to get it in and out of the garage. I will be using this for the summer / winter hardtop on and off.
Got a good deal and wanted to be able to take my top off by myself because it’s awkward, heavy and big. It was pretty easy to assemble but you really have to watch the online tutorial video - the instructions provided are pretty terrible. But, it assembled easy enough. I used it already and got the top off. But, you have to be really careful in how you put the hook and rear hanger on the cables. My first attempt had the roof much higher in the back when lifting. It still worked but was just not right. Easy enough to fix by adjusting the cable length at the hook and hanger. The crank arm is way too slow so be very patient. Very very patient. Also, the roof and hoist just take up a lot of space. My garage ceiling is really high so the hanging lift wouldn’t be ideal so this works. All in all, so far so good and glad I bought it.
Did not ship with all required bolts. Missing 2 3/8 1 3/4 inch and one smaller one. Now I have to go match these at Home Depot just to finish the build. Hopefully it’s not missing anything else…
So this has been out of stock for a little while and I ordered it a few weeks ago. It finally arrived on 6/11 and couldn't wait to put it together. It's fairly straightforward and not complicated at all. When I started to assemble the crane portion, specifically the top piece that sits above the hardtop, the holes in that upper arm were drilled from the top to the bottom. They should have been drilled from left to right so they fit in the 90 degree bracket! UGH!!!! Sorry to say that's pretty crappy quality control after having waited weeks to get this product and considering everyone seems to love it! Normally I'd just drill some holes in the side myself but don't have access to anything that's going to drill those holes in steel...plus, why should I have to do that? Totally disappointed!
After reading the reviews, I was convinced this could not be the same product. However, it is minus the door handles. Not user friendly for one individual. Purchased for my husband’s birthday in April only used twice an each time a disaster. I would definitely return if I has not missed the 30 return policy. Money down the drain.
