Can a trailer brake controller be added and use with this wiring harness?

I am confused by the last question. Does this product require you to feed a wire along the frame rail to the engine compartment for power or is it simply plug in play in the rear of the vehicle with the existing factory plugs? Also, do you sell the plug retaining clip on the hitch separately as I bought a factory MOPAR hitch from Quadratec and it did not come with this clip? Otherwise the plug will just hang?
For the tow harness to function properly, it connects to both the tailights and the battery under the hood. why does the install manual attached here show that you have to route the wiring all the way up to the battery. I thought this was plug n play from the tail light socket? can you share the correct installation instructions?
It is plug-n-play, there is no cutting or splicing involved in the installation of this trailer wiring harness. These are the correct installation instructions.
