Reviews for Quadratec Q9500is Stealth Winch with Dyneema Synthetic Rope
I bought this winch with the Quadratech QRC bumper and I love them both! Install for both pieces took about 4 hours, but I was being ultra careful and double-checking every step beforehand. Wiring the winch motor took the most time, but again, mostly because I was being very careful in routing the power cables. In my case, I bought the winch and bumper together so I mounted the winch before installing the bumper. If the bumper were already installed, you'd probably have to remove it in order to install the winch. Winch works perfectly and looks awesome with the black housing and black cover on the cable. Definitely recommend this winch!
Fit perfect on my Quadratec Modular winch ready bumper. Installed it by myself in about 2 hours.
I added this winch at the same time I did an Atlas bumper install. It is a tight fit, but it is worth it for the final look! I chose this winch over other brands due to looks, reviews, and price point. The quality seems to be very good so far. Quadratec customer support was very helpful in answering questions.
Great winch!
Drop in winch on my QRC front bumper. Have only used it once so far and works great. Very happy with this purchase.
Kind of difficult to fit on when the winch is mounted but does fit well and offers protection when not in use
So far used once. Pulled well.
Installed and functions well, cables were plenty long and finish seemed very nice...
Purchased the XRC MOD & Winch combo and have been very pleased so far with it.
While I have not had a chance to truly test it out on the trail .. It appears to be a quality winch.
Installation took me about 3 hours due to a few complications. First, the plates that close out the end of the bumper have screws that we're keeping the bumper from sliding completely up to the frame mounts. Once I figured that out .. I backed out the screws a bit so they would not hit. Second, I had to loosen the winch bolts about 3/4 of the way out as the left side of the winch was also binding on the top of the Jeep mount. This of course made tightening down the winch harder but not impossible.
The positive cable barely made it to the battery with inches to spare, but I took all of these in stride and had it mounted and secured. some of this technical fitment may have been covered in the instructions however, I didn't receive any instructions or the nylon hook strap. All that withstanding, I love this setup. The SRC bumper is heavy duty and a monster. The winch free spooling reels out rather quickly and I really like the feel and strength of the Dyneema rope and although I still wear gloves when handling the line .. It is nice not to have to worry about getting cable fray.
For the price it is a very good setup.
One final Con - the replacement cost for the Dyneema line is 4X that of the steel cable.
Depending on how long this line lasts .. Will really determine if I stick with this winch but so far so good ..
Great winch. Love the synthetic rope. No more metal splinters. Looks great on the Jeep. Coggins, Dallas, NC
