Will this intake only draw air from the hood side vent? I want to pair it with the AEV snorkel and only want it drawing air through the snorkel.
No, this intake housing includes an open or secondary secondary air inlet port that can pull air from under the hood/side vent area.
To use it exclusively with an AEV Snorkel, you must use the specific aFe-to-AEV pre-filter adapter or seal off the secondary auxiliary air opening on the airbox so that 100% of the intake air is drawn directly through the snorkel tube.

What would be the the best option for a daily driver?
The Pro 5R performs best for on road and most air flow. The dry filter offers convenience, but the oiled filter media perform best. Pro Guard 7 is best for the more frequent off-road adventurer. Thanks for your question.
