Bestop Trektop Halftop Reviews
The best top I ever owned!
Switched from the Supertop NX to this.
Overhead pockets in the top, easy to reach rear zipper for improved air flow and sunrider feature.
Only downside; you won't take this top apart as easily as a summer combo and the rear part of your rollbar is exposed. Therefore rain will enter the rear part of your Jeep through the fabric on the rollbar. Bestop won't include a cover for your rollbar on this top for the JK - they do however for the JL.
Still: absolutely love this top.
I love this top. It was exactly what i was trying to create. I bought 3 to 4 other tops and then Quadratec and bestop manufactured this, WoW. The other half tops I bought either were for summer and lots of air gaps or were weather tight, but created a cramped driving cockpit and monstrous blindspots. This top for the awesome price I paid fixed all those problems and gave me room to work with every driving condition.
Interesting top to say the least. First, it's mostly like those simpler framed tops. It uses 2 bows that bolt directly to the rollbar B pillar brackets and includes all needed parts, so you don't need, or reuse any stock parts. It took about 3 hours to install in between beers. The top has a Sunrider feature that is real nice and the rear window can zip down with an insect mesh so you get a clear breeze through the Jeep when desired. It's a real fun truck style top that turns heads.
Questions

Recommended Troubleshooting Steps:
Sun Soak: Park the Jeep in direct sunlight for at least 2 hours with the top loose. Let the fabric get hot to the touch. Sunny, 70°F+ day.
Reset the Sequence: Unhook the rear window and side panels completely. Flip the Sunrider portion back, then bring it forward and try to latch the front while the rest of the top is loose.
Check the Seal: Inspect the rubber bulb seal on the bottom of the Bestop Trektop Halftop. Sometimes the seal gets folded over during installation, preventing a flush fit.
Footman Loop Check: Ensure the factory metal footman loops on your windshield frame aren't bent upward. If they are, the latch hook can't pull the top down far enough.
