Old Man Emu went through extensive testing and development to accommodate all four of the different rear suspension options that were available on 2011-15 Jeep® WK2 models. This particular rear shock from Old Man Emu is a rear heavy-duty shock for WK2 Jeeps® with a 3.2L diesel engine and fitted with a factory tow package. The 60127 is built to withstand up to 660lbs of additional constant weight. Regardless of which factory options a Grand Cherokee is fitted within this year range have, OME’s goal was to manufacture a more durable shock that would outperform original equipment as well as other aftermarket options. To ensure that this design is an improvement from factory components all computer engineering and physical testing was benchmarked against original equipment.
The Old Man Emu 60127 is a heavy-duty rear shock for 2011-15 V6 gas WK2 Jeeps® with a factory tow package. Models equipped with a factory tow package incorporate self-leveling, or Nivomat, rear shocks. If your Jeep is fitted with Nivomat shocks it is necessary to choose the appropriate coil spring. The outer body of Nivomat shock absorbers will have a diameter of approximately 2.5” (63mm). Standard shocks have an outside diameter measuring approximately 2” (51mm).
