Lock It Down: Quadratec Adds Quad Lock Mounts for Trail-Ready Smartphone Security

Quadratec now carries Quad Lock, a premium smartphone mounting ecosystem known for its rock-solid construction, modular design, and innovative dual-stage locking mechanism. Quad Lock offers a variety of mounting bases—including suction dash/windshield mounts—which lock smartphones securely with a twist, ensuring they stay put even on rugged terrain . Customers can choose from mounts equipped for wired or wireless charging, 360° adjustability, and seamless compatibility across phone models—making it a perfect tech accessory for Jeepers on the move.

For Jeep owners, this partnership delivers both form and function. Whether navigating trails or managing overland setups, drivers can now keep their devices visible, charged, and secure—no rattling, slipping, or distractions. The modular Quad Lock system means one rugged case works across dash, vent, and even bike mounts, while wireless options eliminate the hassle of plugging in on the go . In essence, Quadratec’s inclusion of Quad Lock gear enhances in-vehicle tech experience for off-road adventures—giving Jeep owners trail-ready phone handling that’s as dependable as their ride.

Three Gears, Zero Gas: Stellantis Patent Hints at Serious EV Capability for Future Jeeps

Stellantis is laying the groundwork for the future of off-road electric vehicles with a newly patented three-speed EV gearbox designed specifically for rugged performance. The patent outlines three gearsets—low-range for trail work and recovery, high-range for road and desert, and a direct-drive mode for standard use. Unlike most EVs, which rely on single-speed setups, Stellantis argues that this configuration will provide the torque, control, and adaptability essential for serious off-roading. The system is engineered to drive either the front axle, rear axle, or both, enabling true four- or all-wheel-drive capability—a game-changer for electrified Jeeps and Rams tackling sand, snow, and steep trails.

While the electrification push across the auto industry has recently tapped the brakes, Stellantis continues to invest in EV-ready tech like this. The most obvious application? The upcoming Jeep Recon, an all-electric, Wrangler-sized SUV featuring independent suspension and locking differentials that could pair seamlessly with this new gearbox. However, with Jeep continuing to push its 4xe model, this gearbox could be an addition for that one as well. As competitors stick with two-speed solutions, Stellantis is already upping the ante with a third gear—hinting at a future where multi-speed EV drivetrains could bring back the nuanced control and feel of traditional off-road rigs, all without a drop of gasoline.

Wind in the Grille: Stellantis Patent Taps Airflow to Power Future EV Jeeps

Stellantis is exploring new frontiers in EV efficiency with a newly granted patent for a wind-powered turbine system that harnesses airflow from a moving vehicle to generate electricity. First reported in Mopar Insiders, the design channels air through curved troughs in the front grille, directing it toward compact wind turbines. As the vehicle moves, these turbines spin to produce power, which can either support onboard systems or be stored for later use. It’s a clever way to reclaim energy that would otherwise be lost to drag—and a sign that Stellantis is thinking beyond batteries when it comes to extending EV range and utility — possibly even for future Wrangler 4xe models.

The system also incorporates aerodynamic ducts beneath the vehicle, functioning like a reverse exhaust to optimize airflow and boost turbine efficiency. The layout even allows for multiple turbines per duct, increasing the energy capture potential on longer drives. Originally filed in December 2023 and officially granted in June 2025, the patent represents a fresh take on how airflow can do more than cool or cut resistance—it can actually power the drive. For Jeep fans eyeing future EVs, this innovation could one day help keep the trail lights on long after the sun goes down.

Built for the Trail—and the Economy: Gladiator and Wrangler Score Big in 2025 American-Made Index

Jeep continues to make a strong showing in Cars.com’s 2025 American-Made Index, with the Gladiator earning a top-five finish and claiming the title of the highest-ranked American-made pickup truck. Based on factors like manufacturing location, parts sourcing, and employment impact, the index showcases which vehicles contribute most to the U.S. economy. The Wrangler also landed at No. 13, reinforcing Jeep’s role as a major domestic player at a time when more buyers are using “Made in America” as a deciding factor. Out of over 400 vehicles evaluated, the Gladiator and Wrangler stood out for balancing rugged capability with real economic impact.

The study also reflects a shift in shopper behavior as tariffs and supply chain pressures reshape the market. Over half of surveyed buyers said they now prioritize American-made vehicles to avoid cost hikes, and a growing number are even willing to pay more to support U.S. jobs. Jeep’s presence near the top of this list—alongside EV leaders like Tesla and manufacturing giants like Honda—speaks to the brand’s continued investment in domestic production. For Jeep loyalists, it’s a powerful confirmation: when you drive a Gladiator or Wrangler, you’re not just heading off-road—you’re backing American workers and industry.
