Jeep’s Electric Off-Roader Arrives Next Spring
The Jeep brand has confirmed that its all-electric mid-size SUV, the 2026 Jeep Recon, will finally hit the market in spring 2026 after several delays.
Designed on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, the Recon pairs rugged, Wrangler-inspired styling with EV propulsion. Though exact specs remain under wraps, early reports suggest a range of around 350 miles, removable doors, all-terrain tires, and full off-road capability.
The reveal is expected later this year, and production will reportedly take place at the Toluca plant in Mexico, positioning the Recon as Jeep’s next big leap in electrified adventure vehicles.
Jeep Recalls Nearly 25 000 Wrangler 4xe Hybrids Over Faulty OTA Update
UPDATE: From our story last week about a software glitch that rendered many Wrangler 4xe vehicles inoperable.
Well, Stellantis has issued a recall for approximately 24,238 Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrids, after that problematic over-the-air (OTA) software update caused some vehicles to “brick” or lose drive power entirely.
The root issue involves a failure of communication between the vehicle’s Telematics Box Module and the Hybrid Control Processor, which could trigger a reset mid-drive and result in a loss of propulsion — though no accidents have been reported so far.
The defect was flagged after dozens of complaints reached the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Transport Canada in mid-October, prompting Stellantis to issue an interim corrective software fix while a permanent remedy is developed.
For owners of the Wrangler 4xe, it’s a reminder: keep your vehicle’s software up-to-date and stay in touch with your dealer if you experience unexpected shutdowns or loss of drive power.
Jeep Dominates the 2025 Rebelle Rally—Four Wins in Five Years
You may also remember this from last week as, at that time, two Rebelle Rally participants were nearing another event title.
Well, spoiler, they did.
The Jeep brand racked up another major off-road victory at the 10th annual Rebelle Rally, as veteran duo Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit (Team No. 129) clinched the overall title after completing more than 1,700 miles of rugged terrain across Nevada and California.
They achieved this win operating a stock 2025 Jeep Gladiator Mojave, the brand’s ‘Desert Rated’ truck. This marks the duo’s fourth victory in five attempts, further cementing Jeep’s reputation as a dominant force in competitive off-roading.
In doing so, Jeep vehicles now hold eight of ten overall wins in the Rebelle Rally’s history.
Jeep supported another entry this year, Team Fun•Duh•Mentals (No. 101), bringing broader representation and fresh talent into the competition.
For the wider Jeep community and fans, this performance signals one thing: your Jeep’s capability on the trail isn’t just talk; the vehicle is built to win.
