hey guys Rob here for Quadratec.com Easter Jeep Safari 2021 is not officially started yet it's actually Friday we're on our way into town we actually just flew in to grand junction Colorado and we're making our way into town so we can pick up our YJL that we had transported out now I wanted to give you guys a little preview of the drive into town if you ever find yourself headed into Moab coming west out of Colorado on i-70 do yourself a favor instead of staying on the highway all the way to 191 jump off in Cisco and follow the Colorado river down into Moab you're going to get a very pretty drive as you head down into the canyon and there's some cool history to check out along the way too I'm actually standing in front of the dewey bridge right now was constructed in 1916 and when it was built it was actually the longest suspension bridge in Utah the second longest suspension bridge west of the Mississippi and really it was the only way to get your horse and carriage across the Colorado river that is of course until it burned down a few years ago and now we've got a modern bridge right behind it now with that being said I thought I'd give you guys a little bit of the drive into town and then after that we've got a great week lined up for you guys so we're going to be taking the YJL out on some trails this week let you guys check that out and then we've got the Dixie Offroad expo coming up we're going to have the YJL in the booth there so we can talk to some customers face to face it's great to be out at an event face to face again finally after a long hiatus so I'm really looking forward to the expo we've also of course got those concepts from jeep that we checked out just the other day in those preview images so I'm really excited to get a chance to take a look at those in person and then well hopefully some more trail time so without further ado why don't we go ahead and get to it all right well everybody's just airing down right now we're getting ready to head down into Hey Joe Canyon with the guys from tread lightly we got a bunch of people that came out to help today as well from kc we got our buddy ward with a really cool baja bug back there and this is one of those projects that we look forward to every year when we come out here to Easter Jeep Safari it's our chance to kind of give back and help ensure that these trails that we love to run stay open for us to use so today we're going to be doing just a little bit of trail maintenance trimming back some of the overgrowth that tends to build up down there in Hey Joe canyon makes it tough for vehicles to get down and by keeping the trail clean well it helps to ensure that people stay on the trails so that we can keep those trails opened up I got to tell you the weather looks beautiful today we've got a bunch of friends out here to lend a hand so it should be a pretty fun day and I can't think of a better place to be than right here so so we're down here at the Dixie Offroad expo the first time for the show at Easter Jeep Safari and we've been getting an amazing turnout as you can see there are a ton of different manufacturers here displaying their latest and greatest product for you I've got bestop back here behind me as well as Teraflex go rhino the guys from rockslide engineering are here warren factor 55 JKS fox really if you can name it they're probably here at the show displaying their latest and greatest we're going to take a quick peek around the show of course our YJL is here to check out we've been getting great reception about that there's a bunch of other really cool jeep builds ranging from gladiators to wranglers to take a look at when we're finished up here we're going to head back into town to take a look at those cheap concepts so like I mentioned one of the highlights every year for us is right here downtown Moab the jeep booth where they bring out all of their latest and greatest concepts for us to just dig into walk around crawl all over top of and eat them up man they are fantastic this year is no different we've got a packed house in here we got the orange peels down here we got a 392 the Jeepster commando beach concept is right behind me the magneto we've even got a Wagoneer in here to check out so I'm not going to keep you guys hanging on anymore we're going to go ahead and dive into those concepts first up the jeep wrangler orange peels is a classic two-door wrangler that's been outfitted with a number of Mopar and jeep performance parts and accessories up front there's a satin black grille and steel bumper with grille guard along with a worn winch the hood latches feature a custom profile of the jeep itself and just below that are flat fender flares for additional off-road lighting there are jeep auxiliary led lights mounted on the cow and orange peels is sitting on a Mopar suspension along with BFG mud terrain tires wrapped around Mopar bead lock capable wheels one of the coolest features has to be the custom prototype half doors a classic wrangler option to continue with the open air vive all the windows have been removed from the hard top and the traditional freedom panels have been replaced by a single panel with a glass sunroof the interior features a color match dash with matching plaid custom upholstered seats next up we've got a production 392 rubicon to take a look at and while most of this jeep is going to look pretty similar to other rubicons on the road from the exterior that 392 hemi v8 is hiding under the hood now the 392 comes with beadlock capable wheels and helping that v8 get lots of fresh cool air is the all-new hydro guide air induction hood this duct system allows you to forward up to 32 and a half inch deep water and safely diverts any water that enters the cow away from the air box with the use of multiple baffles the restomod jeepster commando beach uses the body from a classic 1968 jeepster commando and mates it with a 2020 wrangler rubicon now the two-tone paint blends a brightly colored hazy ipa orange with zinc oxide white and the commando beach is riding on a custom set of gladiator wheels and falcon wild peak mt tires the interior is a blend of the new wrangler's dash trimmed in red and white and custom low back bucket seats in red leather the stickers on the dash contribute to giving the jeep a retro surf inspired beach vibe a wagoneer was also in attendance to this year's ejs for us to check out in person and the exterior featured clean lines and bold wagoneer and jeep branding all around the interior however was off limits for now so we can only peer through the windows to take in the luxurious trimmings the magneto jeep's all electric wrangler test vehicle was sitting under one of jeep's new electric vehicle charging stations that will soon start being installed at some iconic trailheads across the country this wrangler makes a custom-built electric motor that runs up to 6000 rpm to a six-speed manual transmission for a zero-emission vehicle with an unmistakable rock-climbing capability now fortunately we weren't allowed to pop the hood on this jeep to take a look at that power plant but we could take a peek through the grill the exterior features custom trimmed fender flares and recessed fender lights along with led lights in the grille for full width illumination there's also a hood from the 392 wrangler on the magneto to give it a very aggressive look the white exterior with the anodized blue accents give the magneto an electrifying look and feel and the slanted roll bar adds to the overall aggressive look the tailgate has also been cleaned up with the spare tire carrier removed and large jeep badging replacing it similar to the tailgate on the gladiator finally the jeep gladiator far out is a concept that was released virtually last year and now we finally get a chance to check it out in person at this year's ejs the far out builds on the previous gladiator way out concept from two years ago and this jeep is powered by the three liter eco diesel a far out sports excellent fuel economy which is going to allow you to travel farther on your next overland adventure the far out is sitting on a g performance parts two inch lift kit with custom colored 17-inch 1552 traverse hd wheels which I'm definitely partial to seeing as how my very own gladiator back at home is sitting on the same set of wheels now wrapped around those traverse hd wheels happen to be a set of 37-inch Falken Wild Peak Mud Terrain tires the rubicon rock rails have also been customized with an added step in front of the rear fender and while the entire truck is impressive the coolest feature has to be the customized at overland habitat that sits on the gladiator's bed it features a 16 foot long and almost eight foot tall living space that can be opened up in a matter of seconds when you reach camp the rich wood trim bench floor and fridge enclosure combined with the orange creates a comfortable and inviting interior living space well that's going to wrap up Easter Jeep Safari 2021 we had a fantastic week here in Moab Utah it was so nice to be back out at a real With Easter Jeep Safari having been cancelled in 2020, it was great to be back in Moab for 2021! The week was filled with some awesome trail rides, a great vendor show, and some amazing Jeep concepts vehicles. We had the chance to catch up with lots of old friends and made some news ones as well. Rob brings us along for a recap of the week in Moab, Utah that we kicked off with a shakedown trail ride for our custom built Jeep Wrangler Sahara YJL. Next we met up with the crew from TreadLightly! to help clear some over grown tamrisk on the Hey Joe Canyon Safari Route. Dixie Off Road hosted the Dixie Off Road Expo with lots of vendors present and finally we checked out those brand new concept vehicles from Jeep at their downtown location.
