With a splash of orange surrounded by white powdered snow and a mountainous backdrop, Jeep on Friday rolled out the second model of its yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve series.

Dubbed the Wrangler Whitecap, the brand said this edition draws inspiration not only from Wrangler sightlines, but also from the classic CJ-Universal and its standout Arctic White top, something that has long been identified with adventure and individuality. It will be offered exclusively on the Sahara and Rubicon trim levels.

“The Jeep Wrangler Whitecap is more than a special edition, it’s a statement,” said Jeep Brand CEO Bob Broderdorf. “It honors Jeep brand heritage while introducing a striking two-tone look that turns heads on any trail. Just like every model in the Twelve 4 Twelve series, Whitecap is designed to stand out—a true tip of the hat to the brand’s legendary legacy. With more ways to personalize and customize than ever before, we’re giving Jeep owners the freedom to make their Wrangler truly their own.”

While last month’s first model in the anniversary lineup, the Moab 392, targeted performance enthusiasts with its 470-hp Hemi V8, the Whitecap shifts focus to heritage styling, lifestyle appeal and collector-grade visual identity. All without sacrificing the capability that defines the Wrangler name.

So, what does the Wrangler Whitecap offer?

A Modern Wrangler Wrapped in Classic Jeep Style

At the center of the Whitecap’s identity is a design theme inspired directly by the Arctic White tops of the historic CJ-Universal models, one of the earliest icons in Jeep’s civilian lineup. This look features a Bright White hardtop roof, Bright White grille with black slots, and a bold ‘1941’ side stripe that calls out Jeep’s origin year.

Paired with a selection of vibrant body colors, the Whitecap leans heavily into the two-tone theme, creating what the brand believes is one of the most visually distinctive Wrangler packages in years. Depending on trim choice, buyers will also see body-color fender flares on Sahara, Bright White hood graphic on Rubicon, an optional Sky One-Touch power soft top with white accent, as well as a unique heritage-style graphics exclusive to the Whitecap package.

Overall, it’s a look that immediately speaks to past and present, and one Jeep says is designed to be a “statement” piece.

Built on the Proven Wrangler Platform

While the Jeep Wrangler Whitecap’s upgrades are cosmetic, the capability beneath them remains purely Wrangler. Those interested in the package can choose between a 270-hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder powerplant, or the long standing 285-hp 3.6L Pentastar V6.

Both engines pair with Jeep’s Selec-Trac part-time or full-time 4×4 systems, depending on trim. Sahara and Rubicon models maintain their well-known off-road credentials, ensuring the Whitecap is just as comfortable on snow-covered backroads and forest trails as it is turning heads in a parking lot.

Part of Jeep’s Yearlong “Twelve 4 Twelve” Celebration

The Whitecap follows November’s Wrangler Moab 392 model release, the first of twelve monthly special editions slated through October 2026. Jeep said each model will reflect a different piece of Jeep’s heritage, capability, or enthusiast culture.

With the Whitecap, Jeep leans into nostalgia, not by simply copying a vintage model, but by capturing its spirit and reinterpreting it for a new generation of drivers.

Pricing: A Heritage Look Without the Sticker Shock

One of the most surprising aspects of the Whitecap is its accessibility. Jeep positioned the package as an appearance-focused addition rather than an all-new trim, making the price remarkably approachable. Those interested in the Sahara trim level will see a $2,690 increase, bringing the total to $53,280. The Rubicon Whitecap package adds $3,185, bringing that total to $51,150. Finally, the Rubicon X series costs $58,140, up $495.

Compared to the price tags of other special editions, the Whitecap’s simplicity and its purely visual upgrade strategy, Jeep hopes this will allow more buyers to participate in the 85th anniversary celebration.

Why the Whitecap Matters

The 2026 Wrangler Whitecap stands out not because it’s radically different, but because the model offers something fundamental to brand enthusiasts: Jeep heritage is emotional. Its legacy isn’t just capability, it’s community, culture and identity.

Behind its crisp two-tone roof, retro-influenced graphics and classic Jeep charm, the Whitecap captures that history in a modern package.

And with ten more Twelve 4 Twelve releases still to come, it’s just the beginning.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Jeep’s Anniversary Year

As Jeep continues its monthly anniversary releases, fans can expect the next special edition on January 12, 2026. Additionally, with the 60th annual Easter Jeep Safari now only a few months away, designers are no doubt working hard on the next batch of concept vehicles.
