Three equals 85.
Well, not in reality, but in Jeep math it works.
And that’s because the brand Monday rolled out the third edition of its yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve vehicle campaign.
This one, dubbed the 85th Anniversary Edition, is designed to provide a nod to Jeep’s storied past with modern capability and style cues, giving buyers a piece of Jeep history built for today’s adventures.
Jeep said it will debut this model during the upcoming Detroit Auto Show from January 17-25.
“For 85 uninterrupted years, every Jeep vehicle has been built with purpose, designed first for capability, engineered for real world use and shaped by the needs of those who rely on it,” said Jeep Brand CEO Bob Broderdorf. “The Wrangler 85th Anniversary special edition reflects this enduring mindset, translating into thoughtful details and authentic design cues that honor the past while continuing to deliver confidence and capability for today’s adventures.”
A Celebration Wrapped in Plaid & Heritage Details
While every Wrangler is enhanced for off-road adventures, the 85th Anniversary Edition gives enthusiasts something uniquely appropriate for the brand’s history. Heritage-inspired design cues, most notably its plaid seat inserts and matching dash accents, are a nod to Jeep’s influence on American automotive culture over the decades. Exterior details stand out with 85th-specific badges that frame a classic Wrangler profile with fresh, collectible appeal.
Inside, the special edition’s plaid upholstery is complemented by exclusive branding touches, such as an 85th Anniversary seat tag, shifter medallion and interior plaques, that evoke Jeep’s legacy of adventure and freedom. On the outside, subtle visual enhancements like bronze-finished tow hooks, color-matched fender flares, and unique exterior decals give the Wrangler an understated yet unmistakable presence.
Standard Features & Equipment That Match Classic Looks With Modern Capability
Under the surface, the 85th Anniversary Edition stays true to the Wrangler’s rugged roots. Based on the standard Sport S trim, this custom package includes practical features like heated front seats and steering wheel, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control and advanced safety systems such as forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control. It even includes a powerful Alpine premium audio system.
This third Twelve 4 Twelve offering also displays proven off-road hardware, as well as Jeep’s Selec-Trac 4×4 system, and pairs with either the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder or the classic 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, keeping performance and capability right in line with fan’s expectations. Standard LED headlights, fog lamps, and deep-tint windows help complete the package.
Heritage Meets Everyday Versatility
Priced competitively over the base Sport S with the Anniversary package added (a $710 add on), the 85th Edition balances collectability with everyday usability. Standard 17-inch Steel Oxide-painted wheels and all-season tires make it as ready for daily driving as it is for back-road exploration. From its heritage design cues to its practical modern features, this Wrangler is engineered for longtime Jeep fans and newcomers drawn to the brand’s history.
Jeep has also confirmed that 85th Anniversary Editions will extend beyond Wrangler, with a special edition Gladiator sharing the same commemorative theme and collectible design details.
Looking Ahead in the Twelve 4 Twelve Series
As part of the Twelve 4 Twelve program, which sees a new limited-edition Wrangler revealed on the 12th of each month through October, this 85th Anniversary Edition continues Jeep’s celebration of heritage, community and capability. From the Moab 392’s V-8 power to the nostalgic Whitecap and now the anniversary-fresh plaid theme, Jees says each release is a tribute to what has made Wrangler one of the most iconic 4×4 vehicles in automotive history.
With more limited editions still on the calendar, the 2026 Wrangler lineup looks to stay fresh and surprising throughout the year, giving enthusiasts even more reasons to keenly follow Jeep’s monthly Twelve 4 Twelve drops.
