Something different caught my eye this morning while on my daily commute to work. It was a bright Omaha Orange 2015 Jeep Renegade sitting on the lot of David Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Glen Mills, PA. So of course I had to make a pit stop to check out the newest member of the Jeep lineup. The first time I got a chance to check out the new Renegade was just about a year ago in Moab, UT for the 48th Annual Easter Jeep Safari. At the time it was still just a pre-production vehicle, and to my understanding it didn't even have a powertrain installed at that point. So it was exciting to see an actual production model sitting on a dealer lot ready to be sold. The all new Jeep Renegade is the smallest member of the Jeep lineup, even smaller than the Compass and Patriot. However the interior felt roomy and comfortable. It has a very familiar Jeep feel in the design and layout. While I doubt it will sway someone who's set on buying a Wrangler or Cherokee, hopefully it will bring new customers to the Jeep brand who are looking for a smaller vehicle, that still embodies the Jeep spirit. A lot of fun Easter Eggs have been hidden around the Renegade that pay homage to Jeeps history, design and attitude. The Renegade that was sitting on David Jeep's lot was a Latitude FWD model, which was nicely equipped with features like the ParkView™ Rear Back-Up Camera and Power Heated Mirrors as well as the 2.4 Liter I4 MultiAir® Engine. The Omaha Orange paint color fit the vehicle very well. While talking with one of David's friendly sale staff, who happened to be named Dave, he informed me that they were expecting a few more Renegade's in the coming days and that at least one of them would be a Trail Hawk model! Now that was the one I was really interested in checking out. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled over the next week or so until that arrives, and when it does I'll be sure to snap a few more pictures and let you know what I think!
